What a fantastic stable phone! Using it 1 month. Installed 100+ apps/games. Never had a crash. Wifi is very stable. Browsing is comfortable. The screen is very sensitive (takes a bit of time to get used to). Comes pre-loaded with great Sense widgets. Battery life could be better. With Froyo the phone shows no lag whatsoever, even opening all apps after each other. Camera is decent. HD Video recording could be better (low fps). Music and video quality is great. Speaks are crap. GPS navigation is flawless. Overall rating 9/10. Very happy with this phone!

Desire, 27 Sep 2010Hi, anyone in the UK own a Desire on the Orange network? If... moreI've got the Desire locked on Orange, exactly same situation as you. No updates as of yet. Software version still on 1.15.61.10 except I haven't missed any updates to my phone, none of which came through ...we are still supposed to be getting it soon (supposedly this week) there was some sort of minor update as you said which apparently, Orange are trying to rectify.
            That's all I've heard! =)

Hi, anyone in the UK own a Desire on the Orange network? If so have you got the Froyo update yet?

I have the Black version running the older software 1.15.61.10, there was a minor update a few months back but I didn't get it as my phone is locked to Orange, the software version was 1.22.61.10 (i think). Apparently this was important and I read on Orange's website that Froyo update will only be possible on phones running 1.22.61.10, yet they didn't bother with it back when it was released by HTC. Anyone with a Black Orange branded Desire got the 2.2 update yet?

              Many Thanks.

My display is showing Safe Mode and my Desire is misbehaving since this started showing.

If I have to choose one of Galaxy S and Desire I would choose Gaöaxy S, because of Desire problem to keep a stable 3g connection and the irritatingly small internal memory that seriously limits the number of apps I ca n install even if I use app2sd and move all I can to the sd-card. I do not use the camera flash often so I can live without it.
Galaxy S with a led-flash and a 3,7 screen would be the perfect phone for me.

sunny, 26 Sep 2010i have both and do not buy samsung. its way too lagy and s... moreI have xxjph plus lagfix installed on my Galaxy S and it does not lag at all and the gps is ok only 5 meters incorrect and less than a minute finding satellites, and it never shuts down during heavy multitasking. Galaxy S screen is more sencitive but s-lcd on Desire is showing more "real/true" image/pictures... 3D gaming is noticably better and smother on Galaxy S. The small internal memory is a big problem on Desire because even with app2sd+ parts of all apps install internally and the small memory fast become a problem if you want to install many apps. I still have some problems with my Desire not beeing able to keep a stable 3g-connection. The optical on Desire is very useful when editing text.
I can not choose between them but the problems with Galaxy S can all be fixed if you dare doing it yourseöf with help from many guides online. The to small built in memory on Desire can not be fixed, and I have still not been able to fully fix the 3g-connectionproblem. If you do not need/want to install many app, more than "20", and have a good networkprovider then Desire is the best choise, but if you want to install many apps and games and want perfect 3g connection then Galaxy S is the best choise. No flash on Galaxy S can be a problem for some. Galaxy S is plastic, but tjat is not the same as bad bacause it meen it is very lightweight, and the buildquality is great, even though "plastic".

yasso, 25 Sep 2010hey guys please tell me will HTC desire have the New H... moreBattery life is pretty much what you expect from an all singing all dancing top of the line smart phone.

In other words it isnt great - with normal usage you will normally have to charge it 1-2 times per day - but that's pretty much what we have come to expect from any phone of this type

I'd recommend downloading some Power management and application management applications as these will make a huge difference to the battery life.

If you feel like spending so money there's also a third party supplied 1700 ma/h battery available to replace the rather puny 14 ma/h battery (uk version - I think the US version is only 1200 ma/h)
