Froyo update on generic desires are available now! As a uk employee in a phone store, I have one in front of me now doing via OTA

I've had my Desire for nearly 2 weeks. It was a toss up between this and the iPhone 4. In the end I decided not to go with the sheep and went for the technically superior handset (in my opinion).
So far, I can only say that I'm really impressed with the performance. The only downside is not being able to save apps to the memory card but this will be sorted with Android 2.2. Not long to wait. Thats the only downside to this phone.
It's a great phone, well built and feels nice in the hand. Not as pretty as the Apple but thats about all the Apple has going for it.
I can only recommend it. I'm not disappointed.

I wish they'd redesign access to camera and image properties. It's pretty difficult adjusting the contrast,saturation and sharpness with half the view obscured.

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2010How do you get the update?? Just go setting, then check for... moreIf your Desire is bought over a contract and is bounded to a network you will have to wait for the update, but if your phone is open for any network and doesn't show the update try to restart.
I've had the same problem, restarted, and updated with no problem.

we can download songs using d "mp3 downloader" from the android market..
but.. how abt videos & movies..? any websites..? or apps i need to have to download..?
n i dont mean the "youtube downloader"..

very good design but very very bad specification because no front camera for video call, i do hate it i love so much iphone4 and samsung i9000
