Hey guys i got this one but in android 2.1 Eclair, but i saw that it is updateble to 2.2 or 2.3 the question is after i do that could it harm my phone.? and which one of this androidsis the best for this device.pls ANSWER

This is a good phone.....but low phone memory & unable to uninstall app from phone memory.....it always show low space :(

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2013try to move some of the apps to memory card... listen bro open the menu and go to the settings click on tha application and in the top u can see the sd card click on the sd card all the application are open which is on the sd card u can click tha application it will show u to unstaal so unstaal tha application appliction automatically remove from tha sd card :)

Can't even switch it on!! It arrived new yesterday, plugged it in to charge overnight. Nothing. And no instructions or anything. Useless!

When you said we "root", how do we do it? I just reset the phone and downloaded viber, ym, skype, fb, and grindr. But after downloaded grindr, it already said low on memory.

hi. I bought htc desire few days ago. This is mz 1st android phone and im happy with it. But my phone is refurnished. Its a 14 days used phone. But its battery timing is just 4 hours on continuous use. It has a poor battery timing, low memory and head phone is not much comfortable...

If you are thinking about buying this phone to root, you must check the HBOOT version first, if it has HBOOT starting 1.03 you will not be able to S-Off & root.

The other issue is the low internal memory, I only have 80mb left after the shipped apps and downloading a couple more which are saved to SD, unable to update all Google apps as this will leave me with no more room, a problem considering I am unable to root my phone and get rid of all the Orange guff. Apart from this the phone is great, fast and excellent screen resolution. my advice if your thinking of purchasing one of these second hand, go for an unbranded version.

The HTC Desire is actually OFFICIALLY upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The only problem is that this upgrade is not available through OTA. To download the RUU you must go to:

http://www.htcdev.com/process/legal_download/152

and download the RUU which will then update the OS. However, all your apps will be wiped. SD card will be untouched.
