Thank you for contacting HTC. With regards to your query, thank you for your valuable suggestions. But I am sorry that we still have not got the offical informtaion that when can the app from market installed into SD card. For this we will feed back the information and you suggestion to relevant department . Again, thank you for your continuous support of our products and services. We will try our best to improve our product feature in accordance with customers’expectations.
It's quite a useless reply I would say but at least they got back to me fairly quickly. A thumbs up for its customer service haha....

Ty for your quick replys
I for one live in Europe(Ro) so I don't know the prices in the US but I bet they are a lot cheaper. SO I guess I'll keep my money and wait for the battle between orange and vodafone to begin on 4G/Incredible/Galaxy S/X10 to begin. I hope I'll manage to resist another 3 months ^^

TY ph1, I really like this phone but in this case I gues ... moreas for the htc incredible being really expensive, you can judge for urself. its available to preorder at verizon for $199 if u get 2yr plan or $269 if u get 1yr plan. the site also says the full retail price is $529. i guess this is the unlocked version or pay monthly version. idk much about plans as i currently dont live in US, but i wud guess its around iphone range. also dont forget that iphone has a max fixed capacity of 32gb. the htc incredible allows for u to store all music, movies, pictures... on the sd card so u cud effectively end up with 8gb of memory reserved just for apps. i think thats enuf.
site: http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible/
getting a new phone is usually a hard choice and with the iphone 4g coming in june 2010, the choice for u might get harder. i hv usually preferred hardware to software tho as software can always be updated/upgraded but hardware (on phones) cannot. u must buy a newer phone if u want a certain hardware feature thats missing.

TY ph1, I really like this phone but in this case I gues the iPhone would be better for me :(. The Galaxy S isn't even in shops yet and the Incredible will probably be incredibly expensive. The Desire here is 300 euros for a 2 year extension (about 13 euros a month) and the Iphone 3GS 16Gb is about the same for a 21 euros a month but with the 4G in sight maybee the iPhone 3gs will be cheaper. Either this or hope for an android memory card mombo jumbo :P

if only HTC would stand out and make official announcements on whether the next update on Android would allow saving apps on memory card... if it does, there will be no doubt it's gonna boost its sales of Desires by multiple folds~~~

Andrei, 22 Apr 2010So if I want to install a game I only have the 70-120 Mb?the current version of android doesnt allow u to save apps to sd card so ur stuck with the internal memory of the phone. yeah u r stuck with pretty much the amount u indicated, but u hv 3 options:
- live with it, only download essential apps and store everything else to sd card. hope that newer versions of android will support saving to sd card soon.
- root ur device (the android equivalent of jailbreaking) but this voids the warranty.
- buy another phone with larger internal memory. if u think this is the best option i wud advise u to look at:
* htc incredible (8gb) available: april 29 (in US)
* samsung i9000 galaxy (8/16gb) available: Q2
* samsung i8520 (16gb) available: idk
* samsung i7500 (8gb) available: now, but slow cpu and low ram
* motorola dext (1gb) available: now, but slow cpu
* motorola mt710 (4gb) available: now
* motorola xt701 (8gb) available: idk
* or my personal favorite: htc evo 4 (idk how much internal memory it has but its rumored to hv 1gb of ram! and some estimated 16gb or even 32gb internal memory) available: sometime in june (according to rumors and only for sprint in US)
the choice is urs. good luck

Come on guys. Does any1 know if I can or can't install games on the memory card? I've seen A friend's iPhone and it had alot of games and applications. For applications I gues there is enough room. But what about games? I've seen Assasin's Creed on iPhone and it looked big(120 Mb). I wanted to buy the phone today but I want to be able to play some games on it. If I can watch movies from the memory card why can't I install games there? :(

Jet, 22 Apr 2010I have this phone - it's amazing but what good is all this ... moreyah it is quite a problem for this phone... let's hope there is either really an app (rumoured appsaver) which will allow users to save apps on memory card or HTC's next firmware update will resolve this issue!

I have this phone - it's amazing but what good is all this technology when the Android OS only allows apps to be installed on the phone's memory and not the SD card! The phone only has 512 MB and the Android OS drains about 85% of it - this leaves about 75 MB for apps!!! Very annoyed!
