all u desire owners...one question....hw does it perform when using instant messaging? does it hav an indication light that tell u u've received an im? can u post sumting on youtube? tnx in adv.

One can always buy a spare battery if they find the battery on the desire to be poor, problem solved.

Few peoples are saying that it has 65K display? Is that right? I thought it had 16M.

The problem is the battery is quite limited in comparison with others in the same category of other marks. This is the weak point of HTC phone

If you are looking at buying a WM7 phone then you may have a bit of waiting to do as there are possibly no phones on the current market that can or will support it, take the HTC HD2 for instance, probably the best phone on WM 6.5 yet that most probably won't be getting an official update without emulations.
Microsoft did showcase three phones earlier this year, a Samsung, Asus and the LG Apollo, the latter having a possible release date sometime in or after September if you can wait that long.

Does anyone know if it will be able to run WM7? I heard it needs a spec of at least 1Ghz in CPU which is exactly what this phone has, but will I be able to get this phone right now, and wait till windows mobile 7 comes out, and I can just bring it to the HTC shop and "legally" put in WM7?
By 'legally' it means there is no emulation invovled, that HTC designed it to be able to run WM7 without problems, that the shop will put in a legitimate WM7, etc.
Please, anyone know?

I'm writing this on my new desire. In short, its amazing. Lightning fast and handles fine when running multiple apps. Screen is very responsive and colours are bright and sharp - 65k looks black and white in comparison. Daylight visibility isn't amazing, though its workable and much better than my old omnia i900. Had to choose between this and the HTC hd2 and I'm sure I've chosen wisely... even walks all over the iPhone in my opinion. I'd very much recommend it. Rating: 9/10, all it misses is a little internal memory (though it works from micro SD beautifully) and a bit more sunlight prowess... still, this is THE must have toy for 2010. :)

Now had mine 4 days. Generally all positive things to say. Android is very intuative, some useful apps freely available. Screen is great and the phone is very customisable. A pity that a noise cancelling microphone was omitted as there is some background hiss. If anyone knows of any remedy, perhaps software based, this would be REALLY useful to know about, as it is the biggest downer I find at the moment. Battery life could do with enhancing as well, so that you have the confidence it will get you through the day.

snake, 03 Apr 2010I wanted to get the HD2 but this one seems better.Can any d... morebattary good easily gets through 24 hours. audio not bad to behonest just make sure you use your own headphones. the ones in the box are rubbish.
but all in all a very strong phone
