It's been an outstanding phone so far. No complaints whatsoever apart from thr phone's internal memory. @max can u pls guide me towards getting ics for it? Thanks

why don`t you mention that HTC release Android 2.3.3 for htc desire ?
and I just wanted to know if we update it to gingerbread , what will be added on our cell phone ?

In my opinion one of the worst cellphones I ever used. Why, you ask?
1. Only 128MB internal storage. I constantly have to move apps from internal storage to SD, but some apps run only from internal storage. In addition apps run slower from SD.
2. Very weak battery. Bigger capacity battery helped a little, but still terrible battery drain. I charge it every night and in the car.
3. Bad reception.
4. Slow. Very slow.
In conclusion stay away. Not worth it even as a second hand phone.

I've only dropped mine a couple of times and I have had it for 4 months, yesterday the phone would not let me open ANY apps at all it would suddenly force close all of them, then it would say I have low storage space and can't send SMS Messages, when I only had 2 downloaded apps. Then when I could text i would push the screen button to type all it would type out is "w" I tried turning it off to see if it would just go away but then when i turned it back on the HTC screen appeared then as usually after it was the US Cellular screen but after that it returned to the HTC screen and just kept repeating. In my experience, this has made me not want to buy any HTCs anymore.

Battery life for Desire, if brand new battery, then just around 3 days with moderate use.
For 2 years old phone (bought at launch, AMOLED) between 28-36hours.

This phone is notorious for dropping calls ! All of the other functions are better than the most important function A PHONE !
