Anonymous, 27 May 2011thanks for send a nice reply regarding HTC DESIRE but i hav... morehi there!

im using my desire as music player and playing it through headphones and loud speakers.. its quite decent for me..

first of all, u should be using a quality earphones and listening to quality track bit rate (preferably 256 kbps or higher) for u to hear tracks at its best...
second, pick a track that suits u..
i usually use Black eyed peas tracks ("the time" or "boom boom pow") whenever i test media players. their tracks always have the separation of bass and bass drum .. and its really one of my priorities..

ok heres my review..

Headphones - i personally use Sennheiser HD 205 and ipod earphones .. and the sound is crisp.. u can hear the bass separately from the bass drum. maxing out its volume really produces loud but still in excellent quality... BUT... in my opinion, apple ipod still delivers better loudness and music quality than desire. i own both and i tried listening to a single track ("the time"). one thing i noticed is the sound produced by ipod (using headphones) is really a step better than desire, another thing is the volume.. maximum volume of ipod is 2 steps louder than desire's max vol. but dont get me wrong, desire's music performance Does Not Suck, its actually Superb for a mobile phone. ipod is just a "little" better in delivering music through headphones/earphones.

Loud Speakers - Far Better than Apple iPhones thats for sure.. but just dont expect it will sound like Bose or Bang&Olufsen speakers.. it delivers nice and crisp sound, pretty decent max volume loudness (not very loud though)..but still maintaining a good quality sound.
and in this category ipods and iphones sucks.. damn.. i dont know where apple gets its loud speakers from. i just hope they'll improve on that in their future mobile devices..

cheers!

its not an Open source platform, you can try that User interface by downloading Launcher7 from android market.
yup Meego or Meamo 5 can be ported to android devices in future because they are open source.

This is a great phone in all aspects excepting for 1: Battery life is pathetic. It is like having someone on life-support in the ICU 24/7! I bought a spare battery and charger just to keep the phone running.
