Everyone needs to remember this is a budget phone. Used for phone related things. Not playing high fps 3d games etc.
I've owned this phone since 2013 and it's one of the best phones I've ever owned.
Pro's..
Robust. Dropped it a million times and still looks like new!: great audio quality on headphones and battery lasts forever listening to music.
I use this phone all day long at work 12hours, and the battery has only just started to cut short. The past 3 years it's lasted me the whole day with HEAVY HEAVY use!
Battery is removable so it doesn't matter, you can replace.
HTC web browser text fellows so screen size is just right at 4.3 for fully one handed use.
Cons.
Internal memory so low that it is now useless over time as facebook etc updated. Facebook is bloated anyway though.
Even with sd card you can't move all the apps across. If this phone had even 8gb I wouldn't be getting rid of it.
Still in the same condition as I bought it 3 years ago. Still on the original battery. The most robust phone I ever owned.
Only reason for changing now is that it's outdated and can't cope with the memory demands of modern apps.
Sad to see it go.

I've had this phone for the past three years and let me tell you - this garbage phone is getting on my nerves each day with it's laggy software, lame design and the fact that it isn't capable of running simple apps like snapchat without overheating and loosing a lot of battery life, which it self is rather pathetic, I have to recharge it every day, sometimes even 2 to 3 times a day if I use such apps as messenger or youtube.
I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone, it's too old to run apps you need and has a big battery and internal memory problems. I'm done with this phone.

I use this phone for almost 3 years. Bad - phone memory is too small, even if the move all possible applications on the SD card. The camera quality average. But the rest among the pros. Phone used heavy, fallen countless times, even from several meters height. Along all this time nothing is torn, damaged, if not take into account minor scratches, then it is at the same condition as at the moment of buying it.

Real disappointment. Vibration stopped working on the sixth month of use. Internal memory full, although all the apps are on the SD card and no way to free it. So no way to make some crucial updates without removing some apps from the phone. Lots of lagging even for making calls. I used it for two years and my home and return buttons are not working anymore. My battery was dead on the second year of use. This is the worst smartphone I've ever had. I'm glad that I'm getting rid of it next week!

This HTC Desire 500 is a PATHETIC phone , switches off automatically , discharges quickly and has a poor voice quality. The applications on opening hang and now the phone is in a state that it refuses to switch on even after getting the battery changed. Highly poor software and hardware quality by HTC . I recommend NOT to use HTC . Very bad experience .

I have an internal storage issue. How can I move the apps in phone storage to sd card. I go through settings-storage-primary storage to sd card but the the phone storage still shows low space. Phone storage shows (Others 2.99gb). Please please help me to find a solution for this

and for memory just buy a 16gb or 32 gb memory card.... and transfer all your
files from internal storage to memory card from settings

i am using htc desire500. its super phone. But Low memmory power. im Mooved some application on SD card. Always good. Camara is Super. Night or Mornig. Battery averge. Disply clarity . Wifi . internet. Sound quality is super. U just use this product at least one day and write ur comment

Poor batery and memory. But i love this camera.really..really like it.I bought this phone since september 2013, now my internal memory always full and i cant use if this phone not attach to the power bank or charger.If not,this phone will automatically shut off and if wanna on again,need to attach to power..What should i do? I bought this about rm1000 with my salary of my first job. T_T

In your setting... set SD card as primary storage.
