I have the same problem with my HTC Desire 500,during a call it shuts down.I've send it in service ,and they changed the IMEI board and the battery.After 12 days,when I was on the Internet by Wireless at home,the problem has reapeard,and I've send it for the second time in service. Now I'm wait for the sollution of the phone problems.

I've been having HTC Desire 500 for 2-3 years and let me tell u.
This phone is wait for it awesome.
The only problem is the storage which I solved it by buying a tablet.
The phone is really strong. I've dropped it like alot but still works like the first day.
I love the camera quality. Comparing to my friends' phones iT's really great.
Just there's a point I'd like to tell, it would be really good if the messaging app environment becomes a bit fancier.
After all, I think all electronic devices quality is based on ur luck.
In some comments I read their phone has so many problems but Thank God mine is really good n I love it. :)

Phone eventually died and when went to ask for a replacement I was told it was past the return/exchange period - no chance! I'd been in and out for weeks with issues. Eventually got replaced and the new ones been okay, I suppose. Never been any update of Android although there was meant to be, so feel ripped off there too.

Am using Desire 500 from past 2yrs, phone is simply superb, till date never faced any complaint except backup but no complaints as the battery is of 100mAh, cannot expect the excellent backup, still am using, I refer HTC brand. I feel the life of a mobile is max 2-3 years.

I thought this phone to start with was fantastic..until quickly it became the worst phone I've owned. The storage is a major issue which I thought could be overcome with an SD card however majority of apps cannot be moved.
Then the camera started to play up with random lines appearing on the picture when there isn't much light - which isn't an issue for other cameras.
Then suddenly everything started going wrong..it would randomly shut itself down for no reason and wouldn't turn on again until it was charging..despite having enough battery. Now the majority of the time it refuses to even charge as its in the 'wrong mode', especially when it thinks its in car mode. It refuses to register any headphones. When the screen rotates it stays that way until you restart it. This is everything on the top of my head, I'm sure I could think of more.
In summary - I would not recommend.

The phone is great, It's sleek, pretty fast, makes no problems, but one.
Its internal free storage is close to non-existant (just above 1 GB).
With the Android being pesky about application installation destination, updates, you are very very very limited.
The phone is highly overrated with the flaw that important.

For the first time, I use htc. I am glad to find that phone, for 2 years. Photos, games, apps, web, running very good for the price I payed for it. It's a good and beautiful phone.
to Is not a Lamborghini but a good Mercedes.

The fon is good. The only problem it had was, vibratoin feedback had stopped. otherwise everything was good!!!
