This device is really excellent.Better than my note 2.The best things of this device is its camera and sound.The device runs very smooth and fast and doesnt lag even a bit.The things i didnt like is its internal memory i cant download many big games because of it wish it had a least 16 gb internal.Other than this its really excellent but maybe i have to go for onother only because of its internal storage.

Guys pls test it with ur hands before u could post such non sense. I own t2 Ultra & htc 816. Both cameras good but what makes htc better is it is fast and crisp. So u will never miss a moment. T2 ultra even though good is slow with its auto focus.

I am a mobile phones freak. Have used many phones so far startIn from those days Nokia to xperia neo v , galaxy grand , note 1 , note 2 , so, htc one X, t2 ultra etc. But this phone htc desire 816 is the best I have used so far in terms of looks , performance ,speed and camera. Htc makes dumb camera modules. First time they got it right with this one on par with s2. Simply amazing phone. Wish the phone had nfc or wifi direct

I have ordered my desire 816 on an online store.
My question... What about its wifi signals?
I sold my Asus zenfone 5 after one week because it automatically disconnected wifi when if goes to sleep mode or the screen turns off. I had done factory reset and turned wifi always on in settings but all in vain.
So is there any problem like that with the 'desire'???

Buy HTC one e8 is yet to be launched and its specs are almost like one m8 except camera and build quality.so according to me its price will be higher than 30k.but if u can wait further more and have tight budge u may better wait for one e8.

xperia zr has a better features but a slight low on chipset. Though it has been an yr on d release date still a better 1 and cms by 21k only wre as htc cms fr 23k

The camera of desire 816 is good and tested by gsm arena as good among It's competitors.The 13mp camera is decent and front 5mp is also good.Don't know why people keep saying crap about It's camera.u shouldn't go angry if it captures even your pimple.Look at t2 ultra,are u happy with its 1.1mp camera.people always wants everything in a single mobile,good camera,great big screen with over 300ppi,faster cpu,more RAM,storage,battery, well u can't have everything in one Mobile especially which cost you only 23k.those who r sayin It's camera is not good,captures blurry,noisy pictures, should buy a camera not a phone.keep in mind that it's a midrange device which even gives u some features of a premium deviceSo just keep calm and enjoy your desire.

816 is a phone with amazing sound nd screen clearity,better camera quality,gud lukng nd battery backup...only problm is heating after playng game 20minutes

hey! M reading many comments here regarding this the sound quality.. I am having this phone by 5 days and I am pretty happy.. if we talk about sound quality then I yeah the one loudness is not as I expected but it's slightly higher than other phones and a lot better in clarity.. bass is awesome and if you are sitting in a room just tilt your phone and listen each and every instrument used i n the music.. camera is not upto mark in low light light but even s5 or any high end device behaves same in low light. 816 has ultimate screen and looks are far far far better than any Samsung or any phone at this range. don't worry for gorilla glass as you can use screen guard worth rupees 100. and gorilla glass is just a brand name as whn u drop the phone accidentally,glass shatters. then pay 10000+ for that.. if you want a phablet at this price then must go for this..

Bro don't blame me unnecessarily for something i haven't said....i have never said that 13mp rear camera of htc 816 is good...atleast read my previous comments properly before blaming me....regarding your other queries the answers are:
1) battery: its average but good as compared to other mobiles in same price range
2)storage: mobiles in this price range and on kitkat have same internal memory...unless you go for phones with more internal memory which donot support external sd card like moto-x. some applications can be successfully moved to sd card in htc 816. data downloaded to internal memory can be copied to sd card. Ad card is not useless as you can always save downloads directly to sd card and read and play songs etc stored in sd card.
3)zoe is promised so when it arrives in future you will feel satisfied.
4)ppi is low but pixelation is not visible to naked eyes...its a market gimic to sell phones by saying high ppi.
5)9 apps can be opened on htc 816 so i bet no one is going to open and use more than 9 apps at a single time
6)about sound its the expectation that hurts.
7)default file manager is missing that is true a lack on htc part
