Bachu, 28 Mar 2016The biggest problem with this mobile is internal memory, an... moreSave ur contacts in sim..move photos and videos in ur computer ..back up ur applications..and RESET UR PHONE..u will get 2.8GB..free space out of 8GB...update to marshmallow..format SD card as ur internal..u will be able to move applications completely to SD card except whatsapp and few other apps. 4GB is used by system..1.5 by HTC and Google applications...if u update the Google and HTC applications ur internal will start getting low...this problem remains even after update to marshmallow. ... . After the update the speed has increased benchmark 22,350(before)..28,484(after) also the battery drain has reduced..

The biggest problem with this mobile is internal memory, and that is only 8 GB, in that 4 GB is used by OS only, so you have only 4 GB memory now. for updating any app or installing any app every time you need to make some space. even i am not able to update into marshmallow becouse it required more then 1 GB internal memory for this updation and for that i need to remove almost all the app that i have in my mobile. HTC is suggesting to move the apps into SD card. but all the impotent app like mobile banking, whatspp, gmail, Uber etc. can not be movable to SD card.Then how can use htc desire 816 mobiles

Vishal Vashisth, 27 Mar 2016go for the marshmallow update or not Problems I am facing... moreWill I did the update and it worked amazing the phone a lot faster the memory is really good the fantastic new things are the battery optimization which make the battery last longer than before and making the SD card an internal memory that means you will download and game or app fully onto the SD card so you won't need to only rely on the 4gb but you will have up to 128gb for apps, the camera controls are a bit worse but it still the best update ever. Try to format the phone b4 updating it, also you might face Mobile data connection problem but look and my prev

Problems I am facing
Battery last for 1 day now before the lollipop update it was 2 days minimum
Internal memory Problem very low
Hangs some time
Network problem
So I am afraid of updating it again as I don't want my phone to become worst so those who have already done the marshmallow update I think can guide me regarding the same

I did the benchmark test again...score 28,484...not 43,722 ...before marshmallow update score was 22,340...

Fafath, 23 Mar 2016I have same problem too about cdma can't connect to interne... moreOkay look after I updated the phone the network was disconnected and even after I restarted the phone it still didn't work I kept picking at it and it worked only after I removed both sim cards while the phone was working then I put the 1st sim only and waited few Minutes (keep your phone on while you remove it and putting it back in) and it worked and I haven't had this problem since. Hope that helps you.

Everything is runing super smooth after the marshmallow update.However the camera qualiyu has nosedived.The pictures taken lack in detail and are blurry.I am disappointed by the camera after update but it may be corrected by some update from HTC if they get to know about this problem.Also you can not move applications to SD card unless the SD card is formatted as internal memory.

But i don't face the other's problems, my sd card become internal works very properly. Maybe they have to search in google how to make it well. Now i can download any big game that i couldn't download before

When we move the Images ,video's and music's from internal to SD card...it will be stored in folder named 'OTHER'....u will see ur images,videos and music's in both SD card and phone internal when u press 'MAKE MORE SPACE'...even through u see in both SD and internal...in reality it's stored in SD...
