Never ever buy a HTC phone. I am using htc 820 for past 1 and a half yrs.. i bought in april 2015.. now my volume button is not working and i am not able to update the sofware which supports the ph but i try to download it shows corrupted.

When i took it to the service center at kochi, ernakulam , TVS service center for htc they told that i need to change my board the volune key is attached to ph and they cant repair that alone they need to change the wholw board and it will cost 9000 Rs... And for updating the software they told they cant giv gaurantee that the ph will be safe. Actually my ph supports marshmallow but still they gaurantee...
I bought ph for 24k and now they r telling me to spend 9k + rs420 for software updation just after an yr... Not only my ph my dad is using htc 816 it has speaker problem..
If its like use nd thow.. y we hav to ise this.. NEVER EVER GO FOR HTC

AnonD-558993, 11 Jul 2016Today I upgraded the HTC 820 dual sim mobile to Andriod 6.... moreAfter chatting with the HTC Customer service through chat I was able to switch on the mobile. They suggested to do the factory resetting. Please take backup before starting the system upgrade.

                                  Shubham:5:00 PM

Santosh, you need to Power restart your device. Press and hold the POWER button for at least 15 seconds and when a pop up will come on screen, press VOLUME UP and POWER buttons simultaneously for further 10 seconds to do that.

After this step the phone had the same issue. So they suggested to do factory reset.

                                  Shubham:5:10 PM

Then try to perform factory reset using hardware buttons by following these steps:
1.Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
2.Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3.Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

Today I upgraded the HTC 820 dual sim mobile to Andriod 6.0 from 5.0. This was a system update. The update was successful. After upgrade the display is blank. I am not able to switch off or switch on the mobile also. This is really strange. Before this update the installation failed couple of times.

I would love to own a HTC phone unfortunately HTC seems not to target the African market where removable batteries and offline FM tuner are very much desired.

Don't you see there are no opinions from Africans? HTC does not target the African market where removable batteries and offline FM tuner are desired. Let them have a change in market strategy.
