i upgraded to lolipop on it.but it gets hot and its consumed battery....

Once you upgrade, your phone is going to optimize all the apps to use ART (Android Run Time) instead of Delvik, that was used by KitKat.
What that basically means that your apps will be loaded on the RAM and hence, switching between/opening new apps will be quicker. CON: More RAM will be consumed than before.
Due to this, the phone might feel a bit sluggish at first.
Once you restart the phone, the phone becomes instantly more responsive than the KitKat version, only because now the full x64 bit architecture will be used.
What that means is that 64 bits will be used to make calls to the memory rather than 32 bits, hence more information can be called quicker, in terms of the OS.
The new UI is also very simplistic, and kinda cool.

Now the question is, whether to make the upgrade to the lollipop or not. I'm a little confused. Someone says that there are no problems and that everything is working properly on the lollipop, while others say that there are various problems after the upgrade. Now what to do, upgrade the lollipop or stay on KitKat.I'd love to do an upgrade, but if it would be bad, then I'd rather not. Please advice.

Just bought this phone yesterday installed a lot of apps and its nice, it doesn't freeze I have encountered any problems with it,however the camera is really bad at night, I captured HQ photos during the day. I got offered to update to lollipop but I won't do that because I see plenty of people have problems with the update. 10/9.

As promised day before yesterday, here's the Lollipop upgrade effect on the battery life. Definitely there's an improvement, so add this benefit to a phone that's working perfectly and the result is awesome.

Hi, i bought this phone about 3 days ago. When i bought the phone i didnt use it as kitkat. İt downloaded the 5.0.2 and i install it. Than i realized the battery life is so short. İ mean in 2 hours like 35% with power saving and not too much using. My question is this phones problem or is it came with 5.0.2. Sorry for my bad english by the way.

I got a problem on my phone after upgrading to 5.0.2 at HTC dual 820
Before it was running well and good at 4.4.4
Bt after upgrading it's hang and slow.
Please make an effort and go though it.

I upgrade my Htc desire 820 to lollipop today in beginning it was slowly and just horrible because of lag, no 4g etc... and i was like OMG im f*cked up ... but now it work fine just totaly fine 4g works when i update google services and its just awesome ...

I've completed my update to Lollipop this morning in Beirut, what was a great phone has now become even better, truly a fast butter-smooth feel. Since my handset came with 4G, that too is working perfectly, in fact absolutely NO problem at all after the update. There have been several improvements overall, especially in the camera department. Although it's still a bit early to pass on an opinion over the battery so far, but I should be able to do so within the next couple of days to come. Thank you HTC, good work.
