HTC LOVER, 14 Feb 2015can any1 pls truly advise me about this phone....functionin... moream using this phone 2 months ,from my experience and following all the posts from the beginning i can surly tell THERE ARE TWO TYPE QUALITY DESIRE 820 PHONES, one is GOOD and other is AVERAGE (in terms of average camera and battery back up) heating issue is common in most near camera
my phone having
good display
excellent performance
no lags seen yet
good speakers
played most of heavy games smoothly
phone heated near camera when using continuously-running heavy games ,using WiFi even Bluetooth transferring , but its on top SO HOLDING IN MIDDLE OF THE PHONE solves the problem and after a firmware update from htc slightly better
battery drainage was a issue , after the update stand by time increased -BATTERY LASTED 3 DAYS WHEN NOT TOUCHED
when USING BATTERY WILL DRAIN FAST ,on continuous asphalt 8 gaming lasting 3 to 5 hours only (100 TO 10 %)
FOR ME THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS CAMERA , not up to the mark,not looking like 13/8 mp , bad in low light settings ,some times shows slight green coloration in flash light in dark ,on zooming image clarity decrease
DESIRE 820 IS GREAT PERFORMING PHONE , ALL BRANDS WILL HAVE SLIGHT HEATING AND BATTERY ISSUES ,BUT IF UR LOOKING FOR A GOOD CAMERA PHONE PLEASE DON'T GO FOR IT

I bought this phone a month and a half back and guess what.... the display is not working. i just dropped it from a mere height of 3 foot on the floor and suddenly its screen is not working anymore. When i approached the authorized service centre, i found that there were end number of complaints regarding the same and none of which were resolved.
I had very high expectations from the mobile esp. after investing 25k, but i couldn't have been more disappointed. In just 2 months time, the LED of the mobile is damaged and to add to my misery, the time to repair the mobile will be around 15-20 days.
I would suggest everyone of you to rather buy a Sony mobile or Micromax which is far far better when it comes to atleast the customer support service. Frankly, even the china made phones are better. I do not have an option anymore but you guys certainly do.

When i am using mobile data on HTC 820 Dual sim and palying music or internal rings through internal speakers or from hands free it gives some sound distortions. And when turn off the mobile data and play music through internal speakers or from Hands free it seems to be working fine. This is a major issue, like if you are using a smartphone so you never turn off your data connection and can't live without music.
Please Help me on this issue i've already changed 2 handsets in 2 days .... :(
Please check your phones as well if you also facing the same issue then please report.
I went to the service station and they said that it might be an issue with the software and they update the softwares and check the phone for 2 hours but nothing happens, and they finally issue me DOA letter. I went to the shop and change the phone and check the new phone and found the same issue with the new box packed phone.
Please help help help !!

I am using this phone for two months now. Seeing all these negative comments is a surprise for me as I am neither facing any heating issues nor battery drain issues. In fact with moderate usage it easily lasts for 1.5 days. I think there is some problem with many units of this phone but others are working perfectly. Here is my list of pros and cons
Pros:
1. Very light weight
2. Screen is bright and vivid. Screen quality is also very good. It looks like a screen with high ppi.
3. Gorilla glass 3
4. Good future proof specs for a mid range phone (64 bit processor, LTE etc)
5. Performance is very good. Doesn't lag at all during normal operations (Though I have seen little lagging in one or two games but may be that is because of lack of optimization in adreno 405)
6. Awesome back and front still camera.
7. Boomsound speakers are amazing.
8. Supports dot view case which is a very cool and must have accessory. I am using it and strongly recommend other users to try it. Makes your phone stand out in the crowd.
Now lets talk about the cons
1. Too big for it's screen size.
2. Back of the phone is very glossy and a finger print & scratch magnet (unless you are using tuxedo grey variant)
3. Sound quality in earphones could have been better (though its not bad at all)
4. All Plastic finish
5. Wish the speakers were a little louder
So overall no major cons. In short this is a great value for money device. I am completely satisfied with it. Hope HTC will fix the issues in their defective units as it is greatly hampering the reputation of an otherwise amazing phablet. Eagerly waiting for the Lollipop update.
