Louigi, 15 May 2012I cannot believe this, i simply cannot believe this, a 600 ... moreWhy dont you all understand that it contains armv7 cpu and not armv6 cpu.
        A 600mhz armv7 cpu is 1.5 times armv6 600mhz cpu..
This means that the perfotmance of this phone is 900mhz armv6 cpu..
Further you can overclock it...so ultimately you get more than 1 ghz armv6 performance in this 600mhz armv7 cpu..
And 1 more thing is armv7 is compatible with adobe flash player..now what 1 can expect for an entry level ics phone

                        NEWS FROM HTC PEOPLE: -

HTC has released a list of phones that they will be updating to Android 4.0 this year. Along with the names of the phones, they also mention the time period during which you can expect the update to arrive for the respective handsets.

From the list, the only phones that have already received the update or are in the process of receiving it are the four Sensation handsets and the HTC Vivid. Other noteworthy phones in the list includes the EVO 3D and Rezound, which will get the update by June-July and the Thunderbolt, which will get the update by July-August.

It's also nice to see older phones like the Desire S and the Incredible S on the list as well, with both getting the update by June-July. What's even more surprising is the presence of the Desire HD in the list, a phone that launched back in 2010 that will soon be rocking the latest version of Android. Kudos to HTC for that.

All handsets that get Android 4.0 will also be upgraded to Sense 3.6.

HTC has also mentioned which devices won't be updated to ICS. This includes phones like the ChaCha, Salsa, Wildfire S and Explorer. It also includes HTC's tablets, namely the Flyer, EVO View 4G and the Jetstream. HTC has clarified that despite not getting the next version of Android, these devices will continue to receive software updates and support.

[deleted post]The specs on the website says its does not have a flash and a front camera..and that's what the pictures suggest as well..so where did you get these details from..and do you think ICS will be smooth on 600mhz???

600MHz? are you serious HTC, for a new release? You could have just updgraded your old phones with new software but then that would not make money. Then again this phone probably wont either.

Since the download of 2.3.5, it has performed much better with regard to receiving text messages on time.
However, although it says it has voice dial, I cannot seem to get it to work with my Plantronics bluetooth device. I have it paired ok and I can receive incoming calls, but it does not work when I speak the name of the person I want to call, which defeats the object of hands free. Is there anyone out there who can give me any advice?
                                  Thanks.

Anonymous, 21 May 2012only 600mhz, i think this is for kidsTake it easy, new Android 4 is much more optimized and runs faster than the previous versions like Android 2.3. So, relatively low frequency of CPU does not have to immediately mean low performance. Of course, you won't be able to play fancy 3D games like you can on Tegra, for example. But that is not the typical user case scenario for this phone, right? If you are a gamer, go and buy a 500$ phone. For ultimate majority of the other users, this phone should be fast enough.
