I bought my HTC Desire a week ago... Anyone else find the battery is really bad? I charge up every nite and battery is gone by 6pm the following day. I woudnt be using it much just a few text and calls :( could it be faulty?

Guys im asking help about an unsual problem with my DHD, about my current location, iam here i manila, philippines but what appears on mh phones current location is iam somwhere on Orchard Rd. Singapore. I find it strange cuz it happened so many times in a week and today all day, after i keep on updatinh my location still its on singapore. Im kinda pissed off with this. Can somebody help me with my problem. Thanks.
Btw, i also contacted HTC hk, where i bought my phone and seemed like we cannot understand because of the language barrier

Restart - is analogous to shutting down your PC and Opening it again.
Power Off - analogous to Hibernate in PC.

Got the Desire HD on 22nd December, returned it on the 23rd !!!!!!!!!!
Waste of time, couldn't clearly hear ringtones when in a pocket. In call volume was way to quiet. Can only connect Bluetooth to a Headset or Car Kit.
Changed to a Samsung Galaxy S....... Miles better.

ERIC, 25 Jan 2011vGiV you still have not answered my question,im aware that ... moreandroid cant access windows mobile cos they are not compatible.android os is compatible with android apps,windows with windows,symbian with symbian and so on.an OS cant access another OS.

help me how to set normal alphanumeric keyboard instead of qwerty keyboard.... i am feeling very tough using qwerty keyboard... i need alphanumeric keyboard when typing SMS.

Wawoooo... thanks a lot......... as per ur advice i restarted the phone and it works fast now.
for now i have chosen 'restart' option in the menu appeared after pressing 5 seconds the power button.
just have one doubt.... restarting the phone is same as 'turn off' and 'turn on' ???
becos i did it many times before but it was same.. but now just selected restart...its fast as beofre.... whats the difference...

been a week since purchasing of my htc desire hd for rs 23,500 without bill ....and here is my experience
1 good screen ,good touch , music is also acceptable
2. battery is not that good nor bad ..its acceptable
3.camera is great quality
4.good looks
5. it takes so much time for videos and pics to load
this i miss or hate
1. no front facing camera
2. no camera key
...but still i dont know why i think i should have gone for nokia n8 instead ....and if you want to purchase htc desire hd from me i will sell it for 22,000 with box but no bill ..i m from karnal (haryana)

It sounds like you're also not saving things to an SD card which you should be doing.
And also, when looking for just contacts, go into the "People" app, not the phone icon at the bottom of the home screen (it's more or less your call log).
If you don't like the battery life then adjust some settings (screen brightness, mobile data always on, etc.), or you could buy a bigger battery, you can get one online for like £16.

- experienced it before, you need to properly stop the USB connection in your PC. To fix this, try restrating the phone. (press and hold the power button for 5sec and select restart).
i really dont liked the way they designed showing call history along with actual phone book contacts when we press 'phone book' icon
- when using the phone, instead of searching your phonebook, try typing the name of your contact using the numeric pad (example: AMY = press 2 then 6 then 9)
. i charged 8 to 10 hrs but not giving me 5 to 6 hrs for normal use... i really hate it...
- the battery life depends on how you use the phone, if the phone's wifi and mobile network is always on, then you'll be draining the battery faster.

Even home screen display also dead slow when i press home screen button when i am in some application...and phone book also same problem.. i really dont liked the way they designed showing call history along with actual phone book contacts when we press 'phone book' icon.
And the keyboad displayed for sms purpose is too bad...should have normal keyboad too like other mobiles...den only we can use single had to type letters.... full keyboard means we need to use both the hands to type... i was using Sony Vivaz pro which is 256mb RAM, but DHD is 786mb RAM which triple but slower than my vivaz displaying msgs and composing too....
Then last but not least... battery life... having dolby and SRS, we surely used DHD to listern music even if we have ipor or other music players.... if we use dhd for music means then we must keep charger always with us.... very very bad battery life... i charged 8 to 10 hrs but not giving me 5 to 6 hrs for normal use... i really hate it...
I am not blaming DHD or anyone... its my experience... dont know we need to do some settings to avoid all dese issues...
