Work in the phone industry and currently using an iPhone 3G. My upgrade was due and it was a choice between the iPhone 4 and Desire HD... Price was not a factor as both were being given to me FOC. I couldn't have a phone with antenna problems so chose against the iPhone4. I was really excited about the HD with all the hype surrounding it.
Got it, looked great, loved it and started it up. 4 days later I had to return it. BATTERY IS USELESS! SPEAKER IS USELESS. ONCE LOADED WITH APPS, MEDIA, WIDGETS, CONTACTS, EMAILS ETC THE PHONE SEEMS TO STUGGLE!
All you fools who say the battery is good your obviously not using the phone! Not one day did I last beyond 7pm and 7pm is me being very generous! phone calls, internet etc.. were main features being used.
Very disappointed in a phone that could have quite easily been better than the iphone4 but as usual HTC just cant deliver! I tried a HTC diamond 3-4 years ago and same thing with performance and battery.
wakey wakey HTC... charge the user more if you need to but pay attention to detail next time! Stop wasting my time.

overall satisfy..
bad points... battery sucks, loud speaker is too soft.
good points.. GPS, super fast Android i ever used. HTC Sense is great...

i've had this phone for like a week or 2.
the phone is just great..
the battery was draining at first but im not sure if ive installed apps killer or i did format the battery as taught. the battery last longer and it's not a problem for me..
overall it's a great phone and the best i ever had!

batterry really sucks compared to dell streak, Dolby and srs surrond is a utter publicity stunt. Got dell streak instead not really size but everything matters than HTC most unwanted desire

greed28, 18 Jan 2011im confused about the screen types that you said. as far as... morei didnt know either... i thought its SLCD.. but then i saw a thread on XDA forums and it showed how htc desire HD has 2 different screen types.. then i called my provider and asked them ,, they said I was in the 1st batches of phones so my phone has amoLED screen. 2nd batches and on has SLCD because of shortage of amoLED screens.

because of its LCD screen,the battery life is more than the other screen.it keeps about 2 or 3 days on
plz dont judge when you havent worked with it.

Hey Guys, don't judge on something u didn't try.
Many people saying battery poor,........etc.
Dont follow others, just follow your own experience.
many people are not having with battery Also, they don't have problems with sound quality ( which was awe-full to many people just by reading not experiencing )
This phone is great by all means. No Single disadvantages

axn, 19 Jan 2011htc are producing big larg screen mobile but bettery life i... moregreat features BATTERY IS AWFUL charging it twice a day and still cant keep it on 24 hrs COME ON HTC get the Battery Life sorted out on the Desire hd I am almost ready to giive it to my grand daughter its that LOUSY

Poor battery??? Nooo, i'm using it all day long and still after 24 h i have about 30%!!! 4.3 inches on your pocket :)
