Anonymous, 16 Nov 2010Yeh Completely right, I actually just checked again on the ... moreAndroid is not on the first place on sales, but it is the BEST OS in the world. :) I will buy probably ONLY Android phones. Android is the future. Symbian is still popular because of Nokia. Nokia still has a good reputation, but maybe not for long. :D
HTC in my opinion is the BEST Android smart phone maker. Mynext phone will be the Desire. :X

OK, I've had this phone for a few days now, but I notice alot of people asking about the sound quality with decent ear/headphones. I'm using a pair of Klipsch earphones and I can confirm that the sound is absolutely wonderful. There are quite a few settings and EQs to choose from so you're bound to find something to suit your taste quite easily.
The screen isn't bad at all, don't know why people complain about it. I find it to be quite sharp and it gives pictures a realistic and sharp sense. I don't know what they're on about.
The camera - Listen - If you want SLR quality pics...go buy yourself an SLR camera. For my needs, this is just great, wonderful pics, the effects are top notch...again, I just don't know what these people are on about.
The battery - If you're not using Bluetooth, WiFi, and a million apps at a time... dont leave them running. A little common sense goes a long way.
I think its a bit heavy though and this makes you worry about dropping it, my last phone was an HTC Touch HD so I've had big phones before. And another thing - if this phone can't fit in your pockets, then your trousers are probably too tight anyway.

Mobilemaster, 15 Nov 2010I agree wit yo man! You are right, Android is on the second... moreYeh Completely right, I actually just checked again on the Net and Android is still number one, and iOS is 2nd and yeh WP7 is great, specially with the whole Console- Generation-like gaming but they missing lots of features, If they had that Android would have some more competition, I had a couple Nokia phones before and I always thought the Symbian was not that customizable and I always disliked it, And Symbian is doing REALLY BADLY check this site NB *http://mashable.com/2010/10/19/symbian-foundation-resignation/ * read all of it, and http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/01/symbian-guru-shuts-down-says-nokia-is-losing-hard/ and http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/07/13/symbian-losing-out-to-android-and-ios/... Ive Also heard that HTC and Motoralo's recent success is from HTC and that EVERYONE including Engadget are saying Nokia should drop Symbain too and switch to Android, If Nokia leaves them the company would only be on very very small manufacturer's and could very well go bankrupt!

annoy w, 15 Nov 2010Has anyone been experiencing sluggish/jumpy performance iss... moreThe answer to your question is yes! The device does seem to have slowed down since I started adding some apps on it, from slowing down when changing the orientation from landscape to portrait mode or when scrolling up and down on one of the homescreens. I have added perhaps five apps them. I am coming from a Blackberry device which means I'm a heavy smartphone user, going throughout the spectrum of multimedia applications. I've had the DHD for two weeks.

People who say that they can't get through a day with the Desire HD because of the battery are probably new to smartphones and most likely have never properly formatted a battery in their entire life. After getting the phone I have left my phone drain the battery to a minimum and then recharged for 12 hours. Repeated this process 3 times and my battery lasts an average of two days under moderate use. The battery does seem small but keep in mind that this phone packs a last generation Snapdragon processor that consumes less power than the processor on the original Desire for example. So please remeber about battery formatting when buying a new smartphone otherwise the battery WILL be crappy no matter what phone you buy.

Ricalf, 15 Nov 2010Many of us in Asia wld like to buy the htd desire hd howeve... moreI'll tell you what! You are better off buying some other phone! Yes, the specs are nice and all, but the battery life is so short it's just stupid!! I mean do you have to charge your phone twice or more times a day? I don't think so!! Get a Galaxy S or a Motorola Droid 2, or the SE X10! any of those will out last the HD's flimsy battery!!

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2010COMPLETE RUBBISH!!!!!!!! SYMBIAN IS THE WORST, Android is t... moreI agree wit yo man! You are right, Android is on the second place now, but it is MUCH better then Symbian. I have nothing against Symbian, but Android is BETTER. There is no way Symbian can beat them. Samsung has left the foundation, Sony Ericsson has left too. Only Nokia will produce Symbian phones, and some Japanese companies. By the way Symbian will NOT die so soon. WP7 will die sooner if they will NOT add the copy/paste function, the Blueetoth file transfer, the Multitasking, the Mass storage mode, the memory card. If they will add these features, WP7 will COMPETE Android!
