Recently upgraded to Gingerbread, my contacts and calendar got messed up. Maybe we need to first uninstall all uploaded apps like contacts and calendar before the upgrade. I noticed that some of my contacts are showing on the original but not on the uploaded apps..

Applications in Android hangs most of the time and the web and album browsing is not as fluid as IOS and WP7, but still I like the features of Android platform because of file management, which you can see easily in your laptop.

Android platform will slowly die in the near future if they will do nothing on performance, my HTC desire hd hangs most of the times and most of applications will forced closed most of the times also, browsing the web or album's is not as fluid as IOS and WP7. Although I like Android because of the features of its software, like tethering, WiFi hotspot, and file management. But my next phone would not be an Android if the performance will not improve.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2011How where you notified of the update , my MTN bought phone ... moreI bought mine this week and updated yesterday without issues. Go to settings -> about phone -> software updates.
If it says there is no newer version available, try again. Sometimes it reports that no update is available.
The update improves the overall experience of the device. Really enjoy it.

Was wondering, will the DHD get 2.3.4 update soon?
Currently running 2.3.3 on Vodafone Australia but they are having network issues in my area Sydney. So I'm unable to fully test 2.3.3. In fact Vodafone Australia is so bad it's getting frustrating. Call drop outs, slow or no data connection, doesn't update the weather and more. Thinking of moving to Telstra or Optus as a result and replace the DHD with the Samsung Galaxy S II running 2.3.4 instead. How does Samsung Galaxy s II compare with DHD. I will be interested to know.

Hi all.
Just want to share my update results.
After updating to Android 2.3.3 my battery life is about 40% better. Stability and performance are off the charts.
When I bought the phone it lagged sometimes and also soft-reset itself when apps have crashed. After update ALL my issues have gone away.
Best improvement from update would definately be my reception. Had massive reception issues in South Africa. Phone dropped calls when switching between Edge and HSDPA and GSM and 3G connections to the network couldn't be established.
In short. This is the best phone I have ever used(so far) AFTER I installed 2.3.3.
If you are planning to get this phone, make sure you can update it. If you can't, then it might be and OK phone... with 2.3.3 it becomes LEGENDARY.
