HTC Desire HD ROM brings its fast boot magic to the original Desire

24 September, 2010

The HTC Desire HD was only announced a couple of weeks ago but its fast boot magic is already spreading like wildfire. The original Desire is the first of the Android gang to get a taste of the Desire HD ROM and gain its software superpowers.

Strangely enough it was the HD2 that broke the duck last week, but in the following days no less than three other HTC devices got the new ROM. Those are the aforementioned Desire, as well as the CDMA-loving HTC EVO 4G and Droid Incredible.

As one could expect from a ROM ported so quickly there are many missing features at this point but there doesn't seem to be too many stability issues. Still not having an operational camera on any of those devices is probably too high a price to pay for a quick boot so waiting a bit longer might be the wisest thing to do at this stage.

Still you can follow the XDA developers forum for the latest news on the ported ROMs and grab it when it comes to a more final version. The guys over there have proven their programming talent so there's no reason to doubt that this moment will come. Meanwhile enjoy this video, showing a blazing-fast HTC Desire boot.

Don't worry, it's easy to restore software back, so they couldn't possibly have a clue it has been rooted before!
