Guys, I would like to know if the HTC Desire S has the lock screen like the Sensation. I was quite dissapointed to find in the HTC Salsa review from GSMArena that the Salsa has the lockscreen like the Sensation but not the Desire S eventhough the internal hardware of the Salsa is not as good as that of the Desire S. I am looking to get the Desire S in a few weeks time.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2011guys can u tell me please how much time the battery stands ... moreDude, without using wifi/GPRS/GPS it lasts for more than 24 hrs on an average. If u talk extensively, it may drain within 24 hrs.
If u use wifi/GPRS/GPS, then battery may support for few hours as per the usage amount.

I know its around 30%,cos i downloaded 'battery indicator'before i got the Mugen battery,which shows your battery percentage that is left on your battery,it shows % reading permanentley on top left of notification bar.

I got a Mugen battery for my Desire S,well worth the £30.So search 'Mugen battery' and you will get a battery that will last around 30% longer.

I had now it couple of months and some problems wiht I have faced up:
GPS: sometimes works, sometimes not. If it works then it does not update the position as fast as needed. Cant use it with endomondo soft to calculate your real sports result.
Messages: after I got 200 messages for one person then sometimes the phone will not receive sms. the bell rings and the indicator also shows that new messages has received but into messages box it does not appear. Why ?? don't no.
Sometimes when writing a message it just stopping to show letters what You're typing (it does not show typed letters but they will exist in sms). When cancelling writing (saving this sms as draft) and starting or opening again the draft then U can continue to writing (newly typed letters are again visible)
phone itself: it flashing sometimes, the phone just lays on the table and in dark room U can see that the screen sometimes itself just flashing.
also there is some problem with memory. when You have used phone for a long time, i mean hav'nt restarted it for some time (a week) then in contacts list some contacts photo/picture will not showed. Everything else (contact data) nicely visible but no photo (same problem also in messages app) doing reboot to phone. All contact pictures visible everywhere.
Myabe its android soft problem, maybe not. I personally waiting for some updates for these problems.

HI ALL I just compared my DESIRE HD specs with DESIRE S....DESIRE HD have 1.4gb internal store and DESIRE S have 1.1gb store ...RAM is same..DESIRE HD have 8MP camera but DESIRES have 5MP...with front camera...DESIRE S also does not have dolby surround and SRS WOW effects...this is what i observed..except front camera...HD has better specs...and looks so beautiful and huge

I was confused in choosing one among iPhone and htc Desire S.
Now its so satisfying that i ended up to buy htc desire S. My colleague has iPhone 3Gs, and it doesn't stand anywhere in comparison to desire S in all of following categories:
1. Its very fast in operation
2. Screen Sensitivity is just great.
3. Good aspect ratio of screen for easy hand usage
4. Open OS (Android 2.3)
5. Bluetooth availability(Big advantage as its absence is irritating in iPhone)
6. Camera is awsome, photos clicked are great with Flash.
7. Comparable Battery Backup(its a priority for a smartPhone as a phone with a draining battery is irritating.)
Overall, its fully recommended to buy this phone.

lynx, 18 Jul 2011desire s has 1.1GB ROM and 768MB RAM cheersI know that....They are mentioned in the spec sheet itself...what i wana know is how much of that 1.1gb ROM is actually available for user to install apps/games....Anyway thanks for the reply
