This is a great phone- very refined, as one would expect of a Desire successor. Better styling than the Sensation, more manageable size. Not a dualcore, but sufficiently fast for everything the average user would throw at it. Bug and niggle-free, both ito hardware and software. Highly recommended!

[deleted post]What's the 400 € place? I could just about squeeze that pricetag into my budget...
But anyway, yeah, if GSMArena is advertising these suspiciously low prices, they should at least have the decency to tell us all where to find them. No hopes at all of finding it anywhere at all below 400? Or an educated guess as to when they'll become cheaper? I'm assuming that's not until after summer, though...

[deleted post]If I were you, I wont bother with Sense 3.0 -- it is too cpu-intensive, it will bog down your system by hogging your ram and CPU. Due to this reason, they will not install 3.0 on anything but those with dual-cores, like Sensation.
But otherwise, 3.0 is a beautiful 3D holographic UI, good on the eyes, but does not really do anything much more. But if you can afford it, the Sensation looks a lot more "premium" with that cool holographic UI, than Samsung Galaxy S2, still stuck with 2D UI of Touchwiz 4.0 and WVGA 480x640 resolution..

Kevin Xie, 16 May 2011Does this phone support Adobe flash 10.1? pls advise..Yes. Desire S supports Adobe Flash 10.3 as it meets system requirements. It's Snapdragon w/ Scorpion app CPU is based on the ARM v7 instruction set, which meets the demand of a Dedicated Cortex A8 as prescribed here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/#mobile
More info about the Snapdragon over here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)

I've been using htc desire for over a year now, and 2 weeks ago I've upgraded to Desire S and:
Desire S has very stylish design, is faster, better feels in your hand, smaller, has front facing camera, fantastic updated operating system (gingerbread 2.3) that is much more user friendly than previous, very fast on browsing the web (dolphin hd browser) all games and apps are running very smooth and fast, and the battery last longer then in the desire 1, I am very happy with the upgrade, thats exactly what I needed, peace

About the battery life. My girlfriends phone has been running since last Friday 7 AM till today 7AM (Monday) without any extra charging. She charged it this morning at 7 AM, but still had some juice in it, abt 15%. So 3 days. All connections were off indeed, talking time was abt 1h and a half and she made some photos, play with it a bit and I also showed here how to use it, made some setings, so the display had some use daily. All in all very good battery life if you do not use it extensively. Mine lasts a day and some hours on the other hand, but I use it a lot (internet on, calls, android market, play games, etc).

ballusrootus, 04 May 2011Great device. Solidly built and runs fast. Love the desig... moreSame observation.
When new, the SGS 1 looks charming. But after 4 months when all that glossy shine rubs off, SGS 1 looks crappy enough to be mistaken for a $200-budget phone, or a China-made TOY phone, and NOT a $600 smartphone. Euuw.. ;(
Its true. My friend has it, and it looks like a mess. At 1 store I visited, The demo unit of SGS 1 keeps "losing" its back cover a lot, coz it keeps falling off after being removed a couple of times by customers.
And seeing that SGS 2 is made of even thinner, flimsier plastic for its back cover, well... all I can say is WAIT FOR HTC SENSATION.
HTC phones look more premium and a WHOLE LOT STURDIER than SGS 1 or 2, but I wish they make Desire S in different colors, like white or purple.
