Hi guys I have a problem with desire s, can any one solve this:
If my phone rings when it is in my pant pocket, calls are getting rejected automatically once I keep my hand into pocket to take the phone out.

Mine restarts at random, like 2-3 times a day. This is very annoying. Any desire s user experiencing the same problem?

AnonD-7251, 09 May 2011how come the battery backup is awesome, i too am using the ... moreDude, I use mine heavily and it gives me 1 day fully. U check with other similar phones. Definitely, desire s battery scores higher points. Btw, thats my view.

Software very good - hardware solid build.
Achieved stellar battery life.
Phone calls about 1 hr
SMS through the day
Wifi maybe 40 mins
GPS - 2 hrs
Screen brightness - is the biggest battery drainer - but need it on when using GPS
with conservative use - 2 days
heavy use as stated above 1 day with about 10 - 15% left.
Good value for money.

This message I am posting so that post paid users will get alerted when they select the 3G add-on packs thinking it is worth for money and finally paying the entire month salary for the 3G data usage.
I am a Tata Docomo mobile network user. April month I activated 3G add-on pack worth Rs.200 with free data usage 512 MB. I wonderd how I will be knowing the data usage. That time the customer care person told me I can check my daily data usage through my accounts in tata docomo website. I started using 3G and also checked day to day usage in My accounts. Eventhough my data usage is less than the 512 MB free usage, the bill was generated based on one paise per kb basis. So I got scared and before reaching the maximum usage 512 MB,, I gave a request in person to stop the 3G services for my number to Tata docomo office at Koramangala,Bangalore. After that my 3G connection was stopped. But when I received my april month bill , I found that ( in addition to my mobile bill) instead of Rs.200 for the 3G add on pack, it was showing Rs.1871 chargable for my data usage. This Rs.1871 is based on one paise per kb for around 183 MB. Imagine if I used the 512 MB my bill will be Rs.5120.
When I am looking for clarification from customer care, They told the Rs.200 3G add on pack is valid for one month and since I disconnected 3G service before one month, they converted the data usage based on per kb basis. With whose consent they changed and charged me like this. I gave disconnecting request in person to tata docomo office. If they told me about this hidden rule, i wouldnot have disconnected my 3G service. In their website also these hidden rules are not specified (I have the screenshots of your website). It seems that the customer care people don’t know the guidelines and also the Tata docomo bill generation software lacks some basic calculation. I paid my mobile bill plus Rs.200 for 3G add on pack and sent a complaint to Tata docomo. My complaint reference id regarding this issue is xxxxxxxxxxx. The person who contacted me unable to clarify my genuine concerns and finally sent one sms to me saying my issue sucessfully resolved. Again I sent a email to their official id. I got a reply they checked my account and what they charged is correct only for my data usage. So finally that RS.200 add-on pack is a sad joke.
So dear consumers, whatever network you are using if you are under post paid subscription, don’t activate 3G. Remember If I used prepaid the network operator will not get the chance to charge me a huge bill.

I really miss the hardware buttons for call and end. Its just not the same without them. Also, a trackpad / trackball is mush missed too. They are very helpful in certain cases where the alternative takes longer (for example you have selected a contact to dial and there are multiple phone numbers under it, it was simply a question of pressing the trackball to one side to select an alternative).

Best way to save battery is to keep Wifi, GPS, Mobile Network off by default and set the screen to the least brightness that you can work with. Auto usually has it too bright.

im planning to buy htc 'desire s' before that i ... moreman u seriously need to decide what u r gonna buy... if u r looking for a smartphone which ve got very good battery life, awesome music playback and superb quality camera and video then go for N8....
regarding Dsire S, its about the overall goodness. it has got a good camera (i wont say superb) and good music playback but its nt the best. but in other topics, its got the heads up (like smoothness, good OS, built quality, touchscreen, compact, etc etc).
the dissapointing thing abt Desire s is its battery backup.. a full charge gives me hardly a day of backup... but thats ok for me, i can deal with dat.
after all theres got to be some low side in everything, and for desire s its definitely battery backup.

Is there a... morefarhana it depends on u if u like big screen,less battery life,excellent camera then go for desire hd,and if u like all the features of desire hd in a 3.7 inch screen plus better battery life and front camera and minus 3 mp camera then go for desire s and one thing more the build quality of desire hd is excellent while of desire s is not up to the mark as plastic is used....so decision is urs...
