to those of you that just doesn't have enough brain power to think logically why the original desire is rated higher than the desire s or hd... do you guys also question why say madden nfl 2009 is rated higher than 2010? you're not even comparing apples to apples... the original desire rating was voted at a time when it reigned the mobile world and very few phone could match desire's overall desirability mano a mano... now fast forward to 2011, the year of dual core CPU's all of a sudden becomes the standard for a flagship device. so let's see hmmm... desire s...? nope still single core. desire hd...? nah...

so if 2 flagship phones from htc of today trails slightly other models from other brands, isn't it logical that it would trail in ratings as well? and if the original desire flat out killed the competition in every facet of the game during its heyday, wouldn't it also be logical that it would be ranked higher than most phones today OR tomorrow?

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2011lol you do know they only went to SLCD because samsung woul... moreThat's bullshit, the truth is that the AMOLED screen looks horrible. This is not happen just on Desire, bun on Galaxy S too. Small details are simply unreadable, and if you are looking close to the screen you'll notice some small ... well, pinholes-like dark spots. And the characters are looking very unsharp, pointed with red pinholes. Overall, switching to SLCD is a positive one, now the screen is much better talking about details, the only unpleasant thing is the black which is not actually a "dark-"black but a "bright-black".

So wer r the hype boys who was screaming for AMOLED now? I think even Galaxy S fanbois are starting to admit that SLCD is superior now. maybe they are getting tired of seeing blue where it should be white by now? =) Good move of HTC to not go with the AMOLED hype, ppl are finally beginning to recognize the superiority of SLCD

Dual core and NFC... Is it so necessary to have these features a smartphone? I laugh only by the fact that people demand these stuff

can it be that Desire S has GPRS 114 k and EDGE 560 k, when actual values are 32-48 k for GPRS and 384 k for EDGE ?

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2011I was hoping the desire s and desire hd would come out with... morewhats so great about actual buttons? Its disturbing the work flow, when u sit and touch d screen to navigate and type, den u use very light touches, and den u will use the back or home/menu button, and suddenly you have to do a huge PRESS. That is so ouf of harmony when you are busy doing sumthing.

touch buttons was also the reason i preferred nokia 5530 over the 5800 with its physical buttons, same feeling across the board, more efficient

one very simple question... why is this phone rated lower than both the Desire and also the DHD? this phone is meant to be a better phone overall but yet has lower ratings...i think that people are rating on the basis of their disappointments and not o the basis of how good the phone really is! i really want an honest and mature answer :)

I was hoping the desire s and desire hd would come out with actual buttons instead of the touch pad down the bottom for the 'home, menu, back & search' buttons. Hence why I will be sticking to the desire. If htc bring out a good ole desire with extra camera and great design then I may very well upgrade. But until then, htc need to step back before they step forward.

Guess the harder they come the harder they fall lol! thought HTC were the next big thing in the smartphone arena but all phones announced at the Mobile World Congress 2011 have been so underwhelming.
As a user of the Original Desire I expected a whole lot more.
