it jus doesnt even switch on after , keeping it on charge the entire night !!!!!! what can be done ???? is it software or hardware issues ????
pease assist !!! not keen on throwing it in the bin ...... :)

ach03, 17 Dec 2012can you please tell how to updgrade to 2.2 (froyo)There is no more updates for that device. If it still is at 1.6 than you have missed a few updates, including maintenance releases. The only way to have it updated to 2.2 is to have that ROM flashed onto the device, which HTC is happy to do but will be at a cost to you, unless you are within the one year purchase date warranty.

ya frnd,it is possible to upgrade HTC t-mobile g1.the most stable upgrades is froyo(2.2).and it can b used on daily basis.rest all other updates u find on internet is. risky and had many bugs(problems).so u can upgrade ur g1 to Android (2.2) froyo.For proper upgrade procedure u can send me ur email id to me at arjun8074@gmail.com

I have a partially operational Ice Cream Sandwich mod working on this and ive had a fully operational (and fairly fast if you use the right settings and MTP partion) working on it, i think its an excellent phone and all they need to do is release a better digistizer for it so 3d gaming is possible and a new motherboard with more ram, but i really like the actual handset itself

and ya my g1 is still having 1.5 cupcake firmware.and I am thinking of upgrading it to any of unofficial custom roms.after a lot study,I came to knew abt 2 stable roms for g1 I.e cyanagenmod froyo 2.2 and ezgingerbread..so if any one hav used any of gud stable roms,plz suggest me one.also it shud a stanle Rom,bcoz m using g1 on daily basis..thankyou.

hii,m brand user of htc g1.i m using dis phone from 3 yrs,I bought It at Jan 2009 and using till now.I like dis phone as it. has touch type and track ball.ofcource u cant compare g1 with latest phones bcoz g1 is d first Android phone,the pioneer of android.And this phone Is still usable and It has all basic requirements needed on daily use basis

coco, 03 Nov 2012how/ where do u insert the sd card on the htc dream?To install the storage card
Hold the device sideways with the control buttons on the right.
Open the keyboard, then locate the storage card slot at the side of the control buttons.
Pry open the storage card slot cover.
Insert the microSD card into the slot with its golden contacts facing down until it clicks in place.

5. Replace the storage card slot cover.
Note Make sure that both ends of the cover are properly seated on the slot. The device will not detect the storage card when the slot cover is not properly replaced.
