racer04, 10 Apr 2013wat r the best apps you recomded after rooting htc explorerAlso those of you who are scared of warranty,just relock bootloader (then no one ever will boot in to your installed recovery eg: CMW) so no one will find that you have installed a recovery, no recovery means no rooting,so root is masked..
And also there are million ways to unroot ur phone,follow any.. also those who on the service centres hardly knows about rooting, why being so truthful
Also rooted phones does not have wings or legs,its just an ordinary phone with an additional app called superuser,also htc won't raid your home,freeze bank account or hunt you down, just root and enjoy android..

What bootloader does is similar to BIOS, loading necessary commands,kernels, so on so forth, so when you boot in to recovery,actually its bootloader that does it.
Suppose we install another ROM not intented for one phone,what it does is it messes with bootloader,causing phone not to boot in to recovery thereby not booting in to default or installed ROM, this causes "bricking" as we know a computer without BIOS will never work and we cannot boot from cd or anything,it will be just as such...
So bricking and all those scary things happens only if we do extra things,why installing any other ROMs when htc is providing best ROM on Earth?(for those who want to taste jelly bean or ics like Me can try advanced things) but for beginners,don't get scared by those big terms,just root,install link2sd and forget everything...

1. most people root htc explorer due to its low memory,so install link2sd would be perfect option
2. Those who would like to play with custom ROMs watch out, if anything goes wrong,high chances are you may loose your phone,only follow valid threads from genuine developer sites
So installing ROM manager and then install ClockWorkMod (official is there,just open ROM manager and give SU permission) that will create a valid recovery,then create nandroid backup of your ROM if anything bad happens like you don't like new ROM or you want sense back,just go to recovery,select backup/restore and then restore your ROM, nandroid is so perfect that all apps,messages,contacts,usage monitor,everything will be restored.
That will do for average users, install titanium backup and restore all system apps,if you delete any system apps accidentally like camera,Bluetooth,etc, you can just restore via titanium backup..

okay.. so I already bought HTC explorer, overall its a very attractive phone, its cheap, fast, and smooth wether it has only 600 mhz processor, it feels like i'm using a 1ghz phone. So far, the only drawback is its internal memory. I don't care if camera sucks, i just wanted to take pictures.
So recently, i have read some posts about rooting the phone or upgrading the phone to ICS. I've been wondering if i should root it, then upgrade it. Is that okay? Will it have problems of some sort? I never even tried it yet,but, can someone please give me a correct link / address on how to root / upgrade the phone?

well htc is a nice handset but it only lacks in internal memory. its internal memory is certainly low.

Bricking results from installing new ROMs,kernels or other stuffs, if anything goes wrong in rooting,phone won't get rooted,it simply remains as such (I have tried),
If you want warranty,simply unroot,that's all...

Gojo, 08 Apr 2013Which is good desire c or explorer, regardless of price? so... moreI don't know about temple run,but nfsmw and RR2 works marginally better on desire c (from my experience), may be ICS supports games better,both are gud phones,also extra 3k for desire c is justified since it has larger internal memory and beats audio.

I will not suggest this phone.
reason behind this is just its internal memory is very low only 90MB.
