Rinzy, 24 Dec 2010Hi Anthony, I've been using HD2 for the past 9 months. Now... moreI can’t say what the downsides are for you, because I don’t know your needs. I can only tell you what my reason is, why I am waiting for the next Generation of Windows Phone, and not going with the first release.
A Smartphone for me is like having a pocket size PC with me at all times. That will help me cut down the amount of time I need to use my desktop PC.
      1. No true smart phone or smart phone depended person can do without multitasking. Even “apple” realised that. And added it to their phone. Am not going to take a chance with my money and hope it comes in a patch. What if they just wait for the next release of WP to bring it out? I would have wasted my money.
      2. No copy and paste. Hell no, not in this day and age. Am I to type the same sh-t over and over every time? When I can copy and paste on the phone I have now.
      3. No SD card slot. I’m big on trading software. If I buy that phone I’m going to have to buy a flash drive again. And hope I don’t break it like I have broken every last one I have had in the past.
      4. And for the WP phones that has the card slot. WP put the card in a raid 1 format. To integrate it with internal memory. Which is good for the phone but bad for me that still wants to use the SD card as a flash drive.
      5. None of the 3rd party programs I have now are compatible with WP. So until WP has substitute programs that will let me do the same things. Buying one will just be handicapping myself.

mikeysho, 24 Dec 2010hi antony, pls i need your help, can i install android no ... moreIf you downloaded the Android from the link I posted, you would have notices that when you un-compressed that file you download, you have a folder with the name “MDJ_FroYo_DH.......”
If you put that on the Root of the SD it would not work.
What you have to do is open the folders till you come to the one name “Android”
Copy that folder and all its contents to the SD card. Don’t rename anything.
Then run that 2 files on the phone in the order I said.
The first one may look like it did nothing but that is how it is.
I did this using an updated original ROM but i see you are using a cooked ROM. So it is important that you cooked ROM has an updated Radio version. (i think it must be newer that 2.07) i have 2.15.50.14, which came with my updated ROM.

            Hi Anthony,
I've been using HD2 for the past 9 months. Now I thought of shifting to HD7. What is your personal advice? Do you see any disadvantages other than NO multitasking? Further can they include the multitasking with their next UPDATE?

kay, 22 Dec 2010hi pal, my HTC HD2, when i slot in a 16G SD card still brin... moreIt’s talking about internal storage. Not the SD card.
                  Unless you changed your settings
All the programs that came with the phone are set to save files to the internal memory.
You have to go into the settings of each one and set it to default save to the SD.
The same goes for your e-mail and attachments.
And bluetooth file transfer (advance setting will let you change the location to the SD)
And any program you installed, if you didn’t pick SD, it was installed to phone memory.

To connect to you PC in sync mode you have to install WMDC or ActiveSync.
You may also have to turn off high speed connected on the phone depending on the Power output of the USB port on your PC.

To send file from one phone to the other you have to pair. And for other phones you even have to go in the advance settings of bluetooth and turn off. “Allow only devices listed in My Devices to connect”

I will take it if you are getting that warning you have less than 10mb internal storage free. And must be crashing often and getting a lot of lag. Free space on internal storage should never be below 10% which is 51.2mb for this phone.

as for the next part of it. i gave you the info. when you are reading my post, Don't read halfway. SSPL was made before it had a HSPL for HD2 and was intended for cooked ROMs. when i gave the links i also told you what to do with the original ROM.

it good to see you got it out. but if you don't like reading instructions. how do you plan to mod this phone to It's fullist?

and on another note, give your self a name. i hate having to deal with Anonymous.

Anonymous, 21 Dec 2010what is the meaning or practically unlimited phone records?... moreAll cell phones keep a log of incoming/outgoing/missed calls.
But some only keep a fixed amount or up to 30 days.
That is not the case with the HD2. it will keep the log until you delete it or you run out of storage space on the phone.
That why they can’t say unlimited, because at some point you will run out of storage space if you never clean up anything. So it is practically/almost unlimited.

Anthony, 20 Dec 2010Sorry CAN talk to your phone Not AND talk to your phone. I've been using blackberry 9780 for about a month. Coming from 1ghz cpu & 4.3" screen to 625mhz & 2.4" screen seems really downgrade. But its pretty compact, fast and get this done. It's really weird in the beginning as everything is scattered & hidden deep inside menus…..got a while to get used to with. I feel I'm more productive with BB than hd2. Physical responsive keyboard (I can type an essay on this), Long battery life(2days heavy use) & Email(comes like sms)……nth can beat BB in this regard.

Negative side: small screen….not good for surfing. Built-quality is not like hd2…..its made up of all plastic and also not much customization like in hd2. I'm kinda tired of touch-screen phone and BB is the only decent phone you can get in non-touch screen.

7 Zip is a decompression program just like “winzip” or “WinRAR”
Use whatever decompression program you feel comfortable with.
All you had to do was put the 2 needed files (RUU_signed.nbh & SSPL_RUU.exe) together in a new folder by them self and connect your phone in sync mode and run the SSPL_RUU.exe
