I agreed if it's iPhone.. but Android? this monster here can also run android smoothly.. honestly, my quadrant score for running android is even better than SGS.. lol..

not to mention that we can use many different ports, from nexus one to the newest HTC sense from Desire HD..

Xda is working on a port of WP7 to the HD2).... Don't care much for WP7 in it's current state (blocks or tiles)... Right now I have WM and Android on my HD2 and LOVE it... Waiting for new Android OS v2.3... I use Android on a daily basis.... I like the dual boot option on my HD2.... The HD2 lets you try diff OS's on your phone before you buy....

My next phone will be Android (has HDMI out)... WM has DLNA (my tv doesn't have that built in)... Also looking at the Android Tablet's... Will buy an Android Tablet first..... Just waiting to see if new Android OS v2.3 will be put on the Android Tab's?????

If so take it back to TMO for repair and ask them for a loaner phone til yours is fixed... I know the unlocked HD2's from HTC comes with a 24 month warranty... I've had my HD2 for a year and a month now... Sometimes it gets warm (when I'm charging it)... Doesn't get to warm......

I buy only unlocked for better warrnty (sometimes)... I plan to keep my HD2 until the end of my warranty with them.... The HD2 is still one of the best around (even with the new phones that came out this year).... I don't think a WOW phone will be out until mid to end of 2011.....

also try cleaning the copper points on the inside of the battery cover. also the metal balls on the body of the phone that come in contact with the copper points.
this is how heat is transfered from the CPU to the air outside.

you have a US T-mobile version, with there crap ROM?
hack it and use a cooked ROM for that model, it may manage your CPU better, thus keeping the phone cool.

HTC lover, 13 Dec 2010Hi... regarding my HD2, yupp.. it does make my battery h... morei don't know where you live but it looks like you are having a CPU cooling problem.
if you install "cookie home tab V2" you can install "status indicator" and use "battery temp" to see how hot your battery is getting.(that way you will know if that is the problem or not.)
                        my normal temp is 34.5c
my battery stops taking any charge at about 45c
at that point i normaly unplug the phone and take off my gel case so the battery cover can get the needed air to cool the CPU & battery. (the metal cover is used as a heat sync for the phone.)
try to keep the cover away from direct sun light (like in a car) and don't use your 3G,EDGE,Wi-Fi,bluetooth or voice calls when you are plugged in, if the battery is already hot. charging and using wireless radios at the same time will only get it hotter, faster.

my phone has never restarted from heat, but i can see how that could happen. because it has stop taking charge from the car charger because of heat. and the LED would flash Orange & green to let me know that.

hohoho, 13 Dec 2010yea . how is the audio quality+camera and internet browsing .i also been using Windows mobile for many years and agree with everything Stuart said.
just want to add to it.
i find that once you leave more than 10% of internal storage free & update your ROM to 1.66 or newer, freezing never happens.
if your into music, you Going to have to buy some good ear buds. the one it comes with songs very tin-pan like.

because Android 2.2 has flash in its browser i find that better for some web sites so i dual booted my phone, so i can use the web browser from android 2.2 when i need flash.

hohoho, 13 Dec 2010yea . how is the audio quality+camera and internet browsing .hello,

I've been using HD2 for about a year now, found it to be the best of all the Windows PDA or smartphone that I've owned since 2001. My opinion to your questions:

                              SOUND QUALITY
Quite OK to me, treble's a little on the high side to me. Some guys might like it (they say it's clearer) but I'm not that type, I found it too hard for my ear but still it's OK. Loudness to me is also acceptable. I've heard my friend's Nokia phone which has very loud sound but usually when it's too loud, the bass would sound breaking, I guess it's always a compromise as all phones have small speakers anyway. Overall, my personal rating is 8 out of 10 for sound quality base on music playing via built in speaker.

                              CAMERA
Quite all right to me. If you manage your expectation well, that is not to expect much, I believe you can accept it's quality without a problem. Personally I'm happy with it as it is - just treating it as a secondary camera to my digital cam.
The screen is however above my expectation, much better than my friend's Xperia and Iphone 3GS when viewing the youtube. I believe the Motorola ZN5 has one of the best 5 MP cam for a mobile, better than even Samsung's 8 MP as reviewed. Overall my personal rating, 8 out of 10 on this one. It has a built in flash with dual LEDs so it's definitely a plus here, brighter than many phones and can double as a torchlight at dark places. (with Torchbright software) Very handy & useful to me.

                              INTERNET
This is one of my favorite on this phone. The big screen 4.3", the Opera 9.7, the Youtube, this is where I spent alot of time with. Clarity is good, in fact better than good but not the best yet. People are talking about HD (high definition) these days so don't compare it with a HD. It'll be the best for the non HDs. Coupled with the big screen, you'll enjoy viewing it than most of the other 3.5" screens.
If you are talking about the speed of website browsing between pages, I would say it's good. However, the connection speed is a totally different issue all together as it depends on whether you are on wifi or paid broadbands. The only down part is Opera does not have flash players in it to allow clips viewing like a PC but I guess it won't be long, some guys would be able to solve it soon in the near future.

This phone is cheap now and really worth buying. Depending on the OS preference yourself, if you like Windows, this is the best buy. HD7 has about the same specs but with Windows Phone 7 OS which is much costlier but smoother than this by a small margin but basically similar in exterior design so it's your call. If you like Iphone or Android then I think you won't buy this one. These are all good phones, it's only a matter of which type of OS you want .... I've been using Windows since 2001 so maybe because of this, I still stick to Windows. Just don't install too many unwanted third party softwares to the phone and you should be alright, my HD2 didn't hang on me much and is stable. That saying, I still have quite a bit of softwares in it and so far it's been pretty stable. I'm looking out and monitoring WP7 and Android as my next upgrade in the future, for Iphone, it's not my cup of tea. I must say Iphone did a wonderful job in marketing but I'm not sold on their products.
Whatever you choice, it should be good for you, go with your heart and not hearsay. Good luck to you.
