by the way if your ROM is older than 1.66 forget trying to install Android till you update your HD2 ROM.

Hold the both volume keys (up & down)
Power on the phone (still holding the volume keys)
You should be taken to a screen with 4 color bands then to a gray screen with blue writing.
Release the volume keys then. And follow the on screen instructions.

If you get stuck on the screen with the 4 color bands, it means you were not hold the volume keys properly. Remove the battery and try again.

Note: I find it easier to hold both volume keys with the battery cover off.

I hope before this happened you had set up a "MyPhone" account to backup you data online. Because this is going to wipe everything on your internal memory. Remember to update your ROM after this. To version 1.66 or newer. Or if you use a pass key again on your old ROM, a simple thing as a soft reset could lock you out again. NO JOKE

so when you get back into your phone, you should update your ROM from the htc site or stop using pass key lock.

could anyone please help!!! i have had my HD2 for about 6 months now with no problem but today I turned it on after it turned off from low power overnight but it is no longer recognising my screenlock password. it keeps saying it's the wrong pin and would not let me into the phone....

Greetings readers

My htc HD2 keep on restarting, this thing happened 2 weeks ago until today, i've using it for 6months now..

its make me sick & its really annoyed me, sometime i have to remove the battery & restart it again.. i've tried to reset/reformat it, but it doesn't help..

any suggestion?

If you are still up to installing 3.14
Below are the steps... to try and get your phone SPL and radio versions changed over to the UK version. And from then you should be able just to install 3.14 the normal way. I will give you a SN to download it if, we get the SPL and radio version to change.

1.Install HSPL3 on your phone. (the info is on the post to you, with time stamp 2010-12-12 00:06)

2.When that is done go into the boot loader (using the volume down) and see if the info on the colored bands now have a line with HSPL in it)

Note: Doing the above will let your phone install any ROM using a 2.08 SPL or lower, but 3.14 ROMs have a 3.03 SPL. That is why we can’t install it just yet.
The steps below are where to will attempt to clear your internal ROM IMG and replace it with a complete UK ROM IMG (not just the OS change alone.)

3. Use a program called “7zip” or any decompression program to extract the files in the “RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50¬.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe” you have on your PC.

4. In the extracted files, find and rename the file RUU_signed.nbh to LEOIMG.nbh

5. Copy LEOIMG.nbh to the root of the Phone’s SD card.
Note: The File size should be about 272mb. Remove the SD from the phone before doing the step below.

6. Download the “Task 29” utility from the link below

The task 29 download is in the link under “Repack by shaDrac”
Once you have done the “Task 29” your phone should have no ROM or image on it..

Note: don’t hold the volume key as the instructions said because we are going to put back the ROM using the file you put on your SD.

7. With the phone off and disconnected from the PC, put back in the SD card. Hold the “volume down” key and power on the phone. When you see the colored bands release the volume key. A Grey screen with the words loading should come up after followed by a next gray screen with blue writing. That is the ROM installation interface (when you are doing it from the SD). Follow the on screen instructions.

8. When it is done remove the battery to restart the phone. The phone will now start like you are using it for the first time.

9. Remove or rename the LEOIMG file that is on the SD so it will not be active whenever you go into the bootloader. Power off the phone and go back into the bootloader (using the volume key) and let me know what are the words you see on the colored bands now.
Note: there should no longer be a line with HSPL in it.
Once this works I will give you a SN to download 3.14.405.2 from HTC and you will just have to install it the normal way.

follow the on-screen instructions.
when you see the drop down menu, pick the # that has HSPL with it. and continue.
when it is done, you should see "we hacked it" on the phone. when that is done go back into the Bootloader and tell me what the text is saying now.

see if your SN will download the .407. ROM
the new 3.14 ROMs have a new SPL & RADIO. so the HSPL available now will not work to install it.
i need you to install a 3.14 ROM made for your phone, which will give you the new radio and spl than you would have use SSPL to change the OS back to English.
if you can't get .407.downloaded, i can only update you to 1.66.405.2
