Hi ! I have a question.. I've tried Android 2.2 Froyo on my HD2, it works very smooth & cool, but I'm tired to launch it from Windows Mobile, I mean . will it be a version of Android or some tweaks that can make my HD2 launch only with Android 2.2 ? , without launching WIndows Mobile & then Android ..
    thx..

Anthony, 01 Oct 2010I’m like “jack” I’m very happy with my HD2 running 1.66 wit... moreI sold my hd2 not becoz its not good. Main reason was $$$$........$500 for 7 months old phone. Actually I could buy brand new hd2 again with 500 (but not where I live). The first month with hd2 was horrible…..but thanks to you guys & xda developer. I did so much tweak that hanging, freezing became the thing of the past. I was lovin it since then. It was a heart break when I sold my baby. For me…this phone was the best I've ever owned. Having said that….i'm kinda person who love to try new stuffs esp with electronic & machinery things (wish... I could do same thing with car also…..change car every yr). I'm not fan boy of anything. I just use watever I like & watever suits me.

As for winmob7…its one of the ugliest Today Screen I have ever seen. It may be slick & faster than current version but ...the look & the concept of not allowing 3rd party UI …no copy/paste……& like you said….no backward compatible with present apps. I do not understand wat the heck MS is trying to do. They are going backward. So it would be foolish decision to buy win7 on launch. It will take another 2 yrs to get fully matured. I am PIM & MS office man…so hd2 serves my need. Android is not my cup of tea. It doesn't sync with outlook. I will go with iphone over android anytime. Only thing is that I need to buy apps for MS office for iphone. In the end ….its OS & apps that determines the quality of phone. Even 90% apps of iphone is crap….still remaining 10% means a lot. Hd2 is fun but requires lots of work to make it smooth.

I am currently using sony ericsson M600 & looking around & waiting for right phone. It could be blackberry or iphone or android(last choice). I like htc desire hd spec but design is really ugly and small battery.

Syrus, 01 Oct 2010Guys!!! If you love Android so much....why don't you sell H... moreI’m like “jack” I’m very happy with my HD2 running 1.66 with my own customizations.
And I am now using CHT V2 and it is stable. Once you don’t use his built in lock screen.
WOW CHT V2 has added so much. I don’t have need & have disable about half of it, but I do like the new “State Indicators” for battery temp, process count, memory load, free main storage and battery life. So CHT V2 is a keeper.
I’m only thinking of trying Android & WP7 on this phone because I know one day the HD2 will become outdated and I will need to know which OS is best for me to move on to.
I would be crazy to run out and buy the first WP7 phone HTC makes for 2 reasons.
          1. That would be like buying to first “tuchflo” phone the “HTC Touch”. Look at what a peace of crap that looks like to the “tuchflo” we have now.
          2. How much 3rd party software do you think WP7 is going to have at lunch, seeing that it is not backward compatible with windows 6.5 and older software?

So I will dip my feet in the water, holding on to the HD2 that I know. Instead of jumping in head first, eyes close and hoping for the best :)

Syrus, 01 Oct 2010Guys!!! If you love Android so much....why don't you sell H... moreThe Desire HD is nice, but it has only a few things over the HD2, so it not an update that makes me say WOW I want that.... Why buy Android now, when I can have Android on my HD2... This lets me test drive Android first before I dive into it... I agree that Android is still growing right now, and that's another reason to load it on my HD2 first.... Hopefully the dev will port WP7 UI on the HD2 as well... I'm waiting for the really updated spec phones to come in 2011... Learned my lesson not to buy when phones first hit the market... Besides the HD2 can do all I need it to do and some (like diff OS's to load and try).... HD2 is still one of the BEST on the market after almost a year now... Even if I did buy an Android phone I still would keep my HD2 as a backup (still SWEET device)......

htc touch hd 2 very nice phone but my experience thus with 4 different and by the way new devices all had the same issue the touch just stops working then it has to go for repairs to have lcd replaced as the hardboot is such a pain and in then end dont work.

Guys!!! If you love Android so much....why don't you sell HD2... like me & get HTC Desire HD.

One thing you should know that it ll never ever be same experience on HD2 like in original android handset. I go for windows over android at this time as android is still growing. I dont know why i just do not like android feel. Its personal taste.

I did try android on my hd2 and intially i thought that its great idea to have 2 OS on one device. Practically its not so useful. Its like stepping over a dollar to get a dime.

I don't need the ebook, but it would be nice when they get the cam working because I don't always walk with my SLR now that I have this phone and I do like geotaging my pictures. and what about Garmin? I have fallen in luv with that thing, I'm finding shortcuts out of traffic that I didn't know existed.
it's also cut my use of google maps down to almost nothing.

Anthony. I've been using Mdeejay FroYo HD v3.1, and it's very lovely... I haven't used WMO at all today (the whole day)... Things I noticed that works (Phone/speaker), SMS, Mail, Market, web, music, radio, WI-FI/web fast, BT, calendar/contacts thru gmail sync, Maps/your location, Nav, Google talk, you tube, etc)... Too many to list... The only things I know not working is camera and ebook reader... Also notification LED not working, but you get chime or vibration... They say camera want be fixed til offical release of HD ROM to get driver... I don't use camera that much... Would like ereader to work and I would be happy camper... The New Sense HD is LOVELY..... I'm saying this after just one full days use.....
