Hi again ! I tried a few days ago the Ubuntu OS on my HTC HD2, the OS is really cool, but of course it has alot of things which must be improved in it, but I recommend to all to try this OS, it's really a must try OS ! :) here's the link: http://linuxtogo.org/~lgorris/hd2/hd2-ubuntu_0.2.zip.torrent
1. Extract the zip archive
2. Copy the extracted content ("ubuntu" folder) to the root directory of your Memory Card (must look like this.. sd card/ubuntu)
3. Run Ubuntu by launching the "Haret.exe" application in your HD2 ! :)

I use Astro explore. Just like we done with WM. click the apps u want to install. .thats it...

They are said to have someother phones that haven't been seen????? They are said to have better specs????? We just have to wait and see???? But others are reporting that the other manufactures are waiting til Oct 11th for NYC launch of WP7......

Transformer, 30 Sep 2010That nice ! let the game (customize) begin ... Finally was able to load Android on my HD2 late, late, last night... I tried to load several Froyo/Sense v2.2.... None I tried worked (kept getting setting up SD Card, and then the phone shutoff)... It did that on all the ones I tried... So I decided to try and load new Sense HD (because that's the one I want to load when ready for everyday use), and it worked... No problem loading:):):)...

It's very, very nice UI for Android... I'm going to leave on phone, so I can play with Android, to get use to the UI... No nothing about Android (Windows fan since begining).... One thing I need if anyone knows... How can I sync my calendar and contacts??????? Is it a sync app I need to load??? Also how do you load apps on the phone????? I have some apps on my PC, but need to know how to load on Android??????? As I said I'm totally new to Android..........

Will never buy from there so I’LL never put anything there to sell.
Will only sell it to someone in Trinidad, so I can give it to them in person.
That is why I never mentioned it here before.

Only selling it because I don’t need 3 HD2’s in a house where only 2 people are old enough to own a working phone :-)
When ever it sells, it sells, I’m in no hurry. Its not like I see a new phone that I think I must have.

I am selling one of the used ones for $3000.00tt
Already tweaked (or I can reset it if you like) and as you live in Trinidad I’ll sell you it with Garmin Mobile XT with the Trinidad & Tobago turn by turn naviation map that I was using on it.
That map alone is valued at $1500tt and a garmin unit with that map is selling in pricesmart for $2500
The only defect on the phone is the battery cover got some bruising to the clear coat which was caused by sliding it into a cheap car mount before I got the original S400 car kit.
An original battery cover cost 39.99US at shop.htcpedia if you want to change it.

What you will get depending on the time/temperature when you are charge your phone. The power indicator will flash from orange to green. This means the battery is too hot and is no longer taking a charge. If you unplug it and let it cool it will start charging when you plug it in again.
I sold my touch HD Oct. 2009 to buy the HD2, I can say without a doubt the HD2 is better than the HD in every way. The only think you may miss (if you used it) is the hand writing recognition.

Note: don’t buy the US Tmobile version of this phone. The ROM is not suited for Trinidad. The data will not auto setup with digicel or bmobile.
A good site to buy it from that will ship right to your front door with DHL or TTpost is www.clove.co.uk (but I would pick DHL as the shipper if I were you)
Clove is also a authorized dealer of HTC so you are covered under an international warranty

Sorry to tell you this guys. HD2 is only for elite tech savy guys. Its means you know what are you doing in your HD2 (a bit of knowledge in phone hacking etc..) and not scared to try different thing for the better. I having the same kind of problems you experiencing guys before in my HD2. I changed my ROM into Custom ROM and Radio (Miri & Dinik v.19.0). All my HD2 problems are gone and the best phone I ever have. Try to go to this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=531 and search for the answer in your question. Don't ask so much questions and wait in days for answers when you have it right away. You have to do is be patience, read attentively and follow carefully their instructions. Goodluck1

You wouldn't happen to be from Trinidad? I'm thinking about buying one of these i have the first touch HD which I'm selling tomorrow to get this but I'm skeptical as i see you mentioned heat issues, have you had problems such as auto restarting or the phone cutting off when it gets hot ? cause i never had these problems with my Touch HD

plzzzzz anthor i wanna buy hd2 but when i had read all the opinions i am shoked now and iam afraid also because i will buy it without garantee !! but its a fantastic phone!! i want to know is there any related mobiles els if hd2 really have these problems?? and i wanna know is it really freazes?? thnx alot

As I said "I'm waiting till end of 2011 before I look at another phone... Also Nvidia has signed on with HTC and others for them to use there chips in phones now... Read that yesterday... The chip is said to give phones 3D and 1080p recording and playing.... SWEET.................

OMO, 29 Sep 2010there was a covering on the screen which i removed. I alrea... moreJoin the club... I had to send my phone to HTC twice before they finally fixed it (working better so far)... The first time they just loaded a diff ROM on my phone and returned it... I called them and got in their Axx... Also they tried to charge me a $20 global warnt fee, which they credited back to me... They fixed it after the Axx chewing (replaced main board and all buttons)... I now have the TMobile buttons on a Euro HD2... You have to stay on them if you want your phone fixed... Even if you have to keep sending it back... That's what I would've done til they fixed it... That's what your warnt is for......

Guess it will have to be returned....(the problem is that im scared, it might get returned with that fixed but with another fault)

look at the features tab and tell me that's a joke.
that's the HD2 without hardware keys below.
that's a mistake right?
if not, someone is going to port WP7 to the HD2. no question about it.

If that don’t work try a hard / factory reset. If that don’t work you have to send it back.
