anonymous, 23 Jul 2010Hi I have just Upgraded my HD2 ROM by using the link on the... moreIf used the encryption feature for the SD that this phone can do when you were on your old ROM, I am sorry to say when you changed your ROM the SD things your phone and not the same one and your have locked yourself out of the info of the SD. All you can do now is format the card. That info is lost.
(You were suppose to backup the card to your PC before flashing a ROM or hard resetting, if you used the encryption)
Download the user manual off the HTC site and read up on it you will see what I’m talking about. (Not the quick start guide)

High Tech, 23 Jul 2010How did U get it to load. Tried on mines, but load screen j... moreHere is what I did:
                    (1) Formatted the SD using FAT 32
                    (2) Downloaded Desire 5
                    (3) Extracted the file and copied all files to the SD
                    (4) Run CLRCAD first
                    (5) Run HARET

                    Note:
You must copy ALL extracted files to root of the SD pls.

John, 23 Jul 2010Hi Obeche, Tied to download HTC Sense (HTC Desire base r... moreThe file size is about 158Mb (no exactly sure - but will confirm). But definitely not in Kb.
Yes I know what you are talking about. I think what you downloaded is the initial file (torrents) that should now route the download to the actual Desire file. I have this programme LimeWire, so in my own case after that initial download (Kb) it got routed to LimeWire and downloaded the main Desire V5 file.
Try downloading LimeWire and install in your PC and try downloading the Android again - if no other option. LimeWire is free also.

Atul, 22 Jul 2010Thanks for your reply to both Syrus and Anthony. Do you ... moreNot because a ROM says it is 1GB means it is 1GB free space. Remember the OS and HTC software is using some of the space and for the US version, Tmobile and other 3rd party software is also using space on the ROM that you can’t uninstall. You need to ask some one with the US version how much free space the US version has on the internal storage because that is what really affects performance.
Note: and updated international version with your programs and files kept on the SD is not slower than the US version. Lag only comes into play when you install bad software or start using too much space on the internal memory/(free ROM space) and that affects both US and the international version.

My rom is 1.66.405.2, radio rom is 2.10.50.08_2 and I have HSPL3.Do I need anything else?

If you have a factory unlock phone just go in connections. And pick your country and provider. Connect to the internet using a hot spot and update the database from the menu in there and you should be good to go. (If you need more details from me just say and ill post over the weekend) if you have a provider phone you will have to manually setup and you will need the settings from your provider.

I've used many WM devices since 2001 and would say this current one (HD2) is the best for me. Used it for presentation when I do not have my notebook with me, pinch zoom and finger flick / scroll perform just like iPhone's signature. I've been looking for a Windows mobile device which has all the Windows' system feature combines with iPhone features as mentioned above. Now I found it with HD2 plus bigger screen and slightly better screen interface.

I'm not crazy over IOS (Apple) so iPhone should be out of my choice but Android and Windows 7 will be interesting to watch in the future. Let's see what happens.

As of now, HD2 is my pick over others.
