Obeche, 13 Jul 2010Raul, Am ain't an expert.... but try the steps below. • C... moreThank you Obeche, Thanks all of you wanted to help me.I installed radio rom 2.08.50.05 and on the memory card downloaded the Android 2.1, as you said, on the root of memory card (everything)and unzip everything.
Android looks very nice. But I couldn't use it. I had no sound and had some other bugs, so I had to do a reset and use winmo.
Probably it will take some time till we can use it normally.
However, so far it is a hard and great job. Congratulation!
Is anyone who is using Android on hd2?

John, 14 Jul 2010hello dear HD2 experience users, Im planning to buy a ne... moreI've been using HD2 for last 4-5 months. Here is my opinion: If you like MS product like hotmail, outlook, ms office etc go with HD2…….if you like google product like gmail, google sync, map etc then go with android. And android is more UI friendly & smoother than win mob…..only downside of android is poor battery life & not yet matured like windows. As for HD2's pink issue, sms bugs etc……all have been sorted out by software updates. No more problems. Freezing & UI unfriendliness still exist. This is the main problem with win mobile. It just simply not smooth like iphone. One more thing its like old car…..you need to keep fixing it. I wont be surprised…..you spend more time tweaking, reset with hd2 than actual use of phone.

My cousin has iphone 3gs and we often swap our phones………and you know…I just do not like to use my hd2 after I use iphone. Its so fast, simple & smooth. Iphone4 looks terrific but has this signal problem. But having said that there are lots of limitation & restriction with iphone. HD2 is full of features and hardware & built quality is second to none. Actually I bought HD2…..just looking at its hardware(tired of those cheap plastic phones). Its simply beautiful to behold. So its upto you to decide wat you want from phone. You should take a look at iphone as well. I think …..when comes to touch screen….no phone comes closure to iphone (even android). I'm tired of these touch screen(I like iphone but no freedom, limited features)…..now looking to switch to Black berry…….just waiting for their new phone with new OS.

John, 14 Jul 2010hello dear HD2 experience users, Im planning to buy a ne... moreBy saying plenty I can see three mainstream devices, the Iphone ,Android and WM to be joined by WP7 soon.
Get the Iphone 4 if you want something simple and do almost everything specially playing games with a sort of phone functionality!! for the time beeing.
Get the Hd2 if you want to do everything ,but you must be a tech savvy and a baby sitter at the same time!!.
Get the Android ..I honestly dont know why,let someone else tell you that ,since i myself have no experinca at all with it.
BTW I have an HD2 and for now, Im happy with it.

                  hello dear HD2 experience users,

Im planning to buy a new smartphone, but plenty of the smartphone choices make me crazy... HD2 used to be a smartphone that i wish to since last year, however, there are quite a number of reviews and comments on it's cons' side(pink photo, no front camera, less brilliant screen, not frendly-used UI, often freeze, etc.) Does these realy happen on this phone? as i can see nowadays there are no longer win mob dominating, since the lauching of android. I have yet to use both win mob and android phone before , do not know how's the difference. therefore, I would like to seek for the opinions and help here , wish that can get some advices.. thank you all so much!

yesterday i had the problem lots of HD2 owner faced it, my device worked fine, but when i had to soft reset it, it always freezes on the white screen, and never starts up, every many times of taking the battery out, and start again, it finally started up.
i tried to soft reset it again and faced the same problem
i tried to flash the ROM again, but after many tries, i finally got it to flash, but the thing is that the problem wasn't solved, and the unit kept freezing in the start up, but once it started up it worked perfectly until the next soft reset.

but then i tried cooling the device against an AC, and the surprise was that the unis was able to start normally, every time with no problems when it was cooled

any one faced such problem with the device? i will try it again today at noon, when the temperatures are high.

Am ain't an expert.... but try the steps below.
                                • Create a folder in the SD. I named mine main
                                • Extract all files in the Andriod zip and dumped in the folder crated above.
                                • Cut files named (rootfs.img and system.sqsh) from this fold and paste them on the SD (as in “root”). That is, paste the two files outside any fold in the SD such that when you access your SD from a PC, you will see the files straight (not inside a folder).
                                • Note: Ensure any other zipped file - initrd.gz (from the already extracted Andriod zip) is extracted and copied into the folder created above.
                                • Try running haret again. Should work.

Ofcourse still in dev stage - but very promising!
