how did the serial download a 406.1 ROM?
Are you sure you are putting in the correct SN?
that could not come up in the 3rd box
roms are showen in box #2

Did you read FRA on the site or was that what downloaded?
If your phone is really FRA, getting 405.2 from a next site still will not make it install. The SPL on the phone will block the installation.
You going to have to hack your SPL.
So I ask again, what is the full name of the file you downloaded from HTC?

I asked this because an original 405.1 phone SN should only download a 405.1 or.2 ROM.
As I said before the country you have to pick to find the ROM has nothing to do with where you live.
It has to do with the ROM the phone came with.
405.1 is Europe unlocked WWE is World Wide English. (You can get that on the UK page.) When you do the update on your phone I will be changed to 405.2 WWE
If you getting FRA after the download with your SN then someone tampered with the phone to put that 405.1 ROM on it.

your SN is good. But you have to pick UK as the country. Then get the ROM upgrade with no provider name next to it. It is dated 2010-03-25
In dropdown 3 you can pick the US to make the download faster.

I know a work around for that if you want it.

Which country are you picking when you are on the HTC site?
it has nothing to do with where you are it has to do with where the phone is from.
by the way, where did you buy it and how much did you pay in tt.

The glass is tuff, you will ... moreThat is a pretty interesting story! Scary at the same time though. I actually accidentally stepped on my phone as well. I set it on the floor next to my bed and when I woke up the next morning…stepped right on it. I don’t weight too much, but still. 160 pounds is still 160 pounds It was fine though. I wanted to kick myself for doing that because I am obsessively careful with my stuff. All of it.
Would you happen to know any gossip about the future HD3? I’m curious to see what the next wave of high end powerhouse mobile machines will be packing. HDMI, 720p or perhaps…who knows…1080p ? Multiple OS on same phone?

The glass is tuff, you will easier scratch the coating on the body or the battery cover than you would scratch the glass but the glass can be scratched.
I had 1 very fine scratch on the old screen that I don’t even know how I got it. Got a lot of scratches on the battery cover from a none original car mount. And 1 on the body from the same mount.
Lucky for me I got a new body when the display had to be changed.
So buy a case. And don’t use car mounts that you have to take off the case to put the phone in it or just spend the big dollars and buy the original car unit.

And it is true, that glass is strong as hell.
Came home late a Friday night and dropped everything on the floor at the foot of the bed.
Jumped off the bed Saturday morning, standing right onto the phone that was in my pants pocket. POP!
Every thing in tact, phone still working. Then I started to see a small amount of the black blood of the display itself leak out of a crack in the display. Still don’t understand how the display could crack without cracking the glass that is above it. I used it like that for a few days then decided to call HTC because the screen started to clear up, which meant the liquid was seeping back in through the crack and on the circuit board which would be nothing but trouble later on.
Called HTC to get it fixed and was told it would cost about $150.00 U.S. and they took my billing information. Shipped it out got it back in about a week and a half. With a bill saying fixed under warranty.

On a different note: How did you crack your screen? I remember seeing a bunch of online videos right after the HD2 was released of people scratching it with keys, scissors etc. and it was fine...as in the idea was that the screen is very strong and resilient. I'm sure the story is interesting.

ProjectCM3, 15 Jun 2010Sounds like a good upgrade ROM wise. I have no problem back... moreOk wait the 2 weeks but after that if you still don’t buy a PC, I can give you a SN to download the ROM straight from HTC.
And what size the file should be after download (as I have the file) and if after you download the ROM it’s not what I said it should be in size, just don’t use it because it would mean the download was incomplete/corrupted.
