Hi Guys ,
Ive had HTC HD2 for more than 3 months now and every day i find a new reason to fall in love all over again with this brilliant piece or inovation HTC HD2 .
Only one question for now , i cant seem to work swype on my HD2 with ROM 1.66. I have tried almost each and every version of swype available on the xda forums and net . What am i doing wrong as i cant seem to work it . Please help .

I'm also thinking of taking off screen cover as it is scratch proof (saw video on youtube). Better take care of this new one.

High Tech, 19 May 2010Did you get unlocked or T-Mobile HD2??? That's why I haven'... moreafter I tested the US ROM on my phone and saw how much US dependent software is on it. I no longer wanted that version of the phone. if I could have put the international ROM on it, I would have got that one but I see there is no HSPL for it as yet, so I got a next international UK unlocked.
(the US version don't even have the connection wizard data base. I need that for quick switching with the dual sim)

High Tech, 17 May 2010Good choice to repair it.. There's no phones out right now ... morecould not do without my HD2 for too long so just bought a new one.
got the RMA to send this one back, will do that when I get the new one.
going to sell this one as soon as I get it back from repairs.
by the way it was estimated about $230US to replace the screen. (excluding shipping to and from)

zil, 18 May 2010i wonder why my phone keeps switching off.. been using it f... moreTheir could be a number of reasons that cause this, but the two most popular is if your running on a old Rom or if you have downloaded an application the phone doesnt like. You can upgrade your Rom from the HTC website. :o)

i wonder why my phone keeps switching off.. been using it for only 2 months now. i'm not a heavy user but it seems the battery is being re-charged faster. i need to remove and replace the battery before i will switch it on again. and one more thing, its hanging most of the time. does anyone of you experience the same? please help, i love this phone too much. thanks

Pick the country that matches the ROM from which your phone came then go to support.
Then do what Mikee B said
If you want to hack your phone to remove the provider locked ROM or change language, than that is a next process. Let me know if it is that you wanted to do.

battry life for your usage is 24 hours not more
sound and call qoualty is fantastic
this phone is the best phone that i ever had em 6:5 is basicly my computer i am very datesfied i have Android too but for browsing the net i strongly recomend htc hd 2

Planning to buy this one this week and I've got a couple of questions.
1. Battery life during normal use. 20 min of call, 2-3 sms a day and an hour of browsing.
2. Sound quality - both on speakers and in handsfree and especially during the calls.
3. How does it stack up against HTC's on android. Better or worse, for example Desire has almost the same specs and price, just looks a little different and runs on android. which will you rather get.

This phone is simply amazing. using this for last 1 month & very happy with this .
Nice display screen. Good reception & call quality.
Best thing its very fast . Programs open & close just very quick . No lags,restarts ,no freezing.
Youtube program & video quality is really impresive.

niti, 17 May 2010hi anthony how can i update the rom Go to the HTC site on link below, select the upgrade for your network provider. you need to enter your serial number of your phone. If the phone is unbranded then select 'UPGRADE ROM FOR HTC HD2' with no network name. if after putting in your serial number it is NOT accepted it means you are downloading the wrong ROM. Once it is downloaded read instructions carefully & proceed. :o)

Anthony, 15 May 2010plan to fix it. htc global gave me a # to call on monday. I... moreI know U said U have stopped using cust ROM's, but U should give Cell Series v1 a look (try if U have time)... It's a very nice looking ROM, themed all the way through... I've added Diniks glass them also for CHT, Call Hist, All calls, Missed calls, Task bar, Slider, etc... It makes your phone look very nice... People comment on my phone everyday... Matter of fact several people have purchased both the Unlocked version and the T-Mo version...
