Anonymous, 11 Apr 2010Has the pinkish spot problem in pictures been solved?Pink spot was fixed as a patch on 10th December 2009 on HTC support site
Then it was fixed in ROMs on 25th January 2010. so you didn’t need the patch if you are running a 1.66ROM or higher.

Do you think this is enough for a month? I need this for automatic download data for weather, stock & hotmail and some surfing when there's no wifi.

Can you tell me roughly...how many hrs can i use internet with this 500mb? Thanks

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2010Geotagging in picture! That sounds interesting. I have ... moreGeo tagging imbeds the GPS coordinates into the picture. (its hidden not like the date time stamp.) mapping programs can use it to show on a map where the picture was taken.
Some of the ways I have used it.
                1. Take pictures of important places. If you have to give a friend quick directions just email the pic to there smart phone and they can see the location on google maps.
                2. If you hick or do other out door stuff. You can take a shot of the camp site and when you go roaming access the digital compass from the shot and it will show you the direction and the distance to get back to the camp site. (no cell signal needed)
                3. Footprint use it to put in the location info as well. A footprint is like a Polaroid that you can put text & audio notes, web & phone # hyper links to the back.
You can use it on the phone or export it as a kml file to give to friends to open in google earth/maps or any program that can read kml files.
There could be more ways to use it if you use your imagination.

I have seen that option, but I have never tried it since I choose not to even put dates in any of my pictures.

Can you elaborate to me what the benefits are since I've never considered selecting that option? Thanks.

I gotta say the US HD2 is really awesome! It is stable as hell.

Before with the Omnia i900 and WM6.1, I had connection problem with activesync from time to time resulting the user to soft-reset the phone device, and COM might have problem in PC resulting also PC to be rebooted. I don't have that problem with the HD2.

Plus, I was never able to sync thru bluetooth with my i900 and the Lifebook U820. Sh*t! The HD2 has done it within a blink of an eye. That is crazy! LOL

Anthony, 10 Apr 2010quick gps should speed up your tom tom lock think of it ... moreGooglemaps is another reason why I don't set QuickGPS to auto update itself via my data plan.

I set up shortcuts in SPB Shell with Googlemaps and Tomtom GPS next to each other. And I generally press Googlemaps when I need to know where I am now.

I use Tomtom if I really need the GPS for driving (as a backup device) or when I am abroad with no data plan.

think of it as a tune-up program for your GPS hardware.
you only have to update it once a week and you can do that by WiFi or ActiveSync as well. give it a try an see if it speeds things up some more for you. tom tom doesn't have maps for where I am but I use the gps with Google maps, footprints, digital compass and I turn on geo tagging in the camera (i don't want to wait a min to take a geo tagged pic)

You should see how ridiculously slow the GPS is in the Omnia i900. Ridiculous and slow are not even the proper words that should be used in the i900!

Plus, I don't use the GPS that much on my phone. But if lock time is really taking too long, QuickGPS is a great tool to be used. But data service is required for it to be used.

I think that QuickGPS can be faulty because when traveling abroad I usually don't get a data plan because it is too $$$.

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2010I use TomTom. GPS locks in pretty quickly (1-2 minutes). If you want to cut down that GPS lock time run QuickGPS once a week. It will keep updated satellite location info on a database on the phone so the GPS will take less time to connect. I can get a lock in under 30sec
QuickGPS can be found under the start menu in tools

And I do agree with you, not because it says scratch proof means you have to take the chance with your phone.
I have the international Version straight from HTC (SIM free) no provider branding. I got it that way because I wanted the ROM updates from HTC whenever they come out with any. I got it November 2009 and it went from 1.43 to 1.48 to my now 1.66ROM which other than the US T-mobile version all the other providers are still running old ROMs.
The SP P300 may or may not be the same as what you got just with the T-Mobile Branding my it is an original HTC product.
The phone worked well with it but now that it is off and I touched that naked glass I just don’t want to put on a next one. I did give a free generic one I got with the Crystal slip case a try and that worked like crap.

About the non-OEM 2400mAh from ebay, I would not recommend getting it.

This is the second time that I am using the battery, and the battery drains more or less like the stock one. In regular standby mode, I got a drain of 10% for about 8 hours without doing anything.

Plus, I got logs stating that the extended battery temperature is at 34.8C compared to 24.xC with the stock. FULL (mAh) are the same.

I don't see much things can improve after another discharge. LOL. So much for non-OEM stuff.

Like I have mentioned before, I am vote for having a screen protector in the HD2, although the screen is supposed to be scratch proof.

I got the OEM package for the screen protectors because in the US it comes with a set of 2. And no where in the package it says SP P300. So I think you might have different OEM product where you are. The only thing I see are big HTC letter in the front, and T-Mobile (front and back).

I personally think it is smoother with the OEM screen protector than without one. You get much less fingerprints with the screen protector. Hence, screen is less sticky. The product description of the OEM screen protector states that it is anti-smear sheet.
