Is your phone running ROM version 1.43 or 1.48?
Did you install any 3rd party software, if so do you know for a fact that they are stable?
Do you have at least 30mb of free storage space on internal memory?

People come to this forum to get info on this HD2 phone E.G. How to use it or customize it etc, your comments are just slagging it off, this is your own experience with the phone, you should allow people to have theirs & not put them off because of your choice. If i didnt own a HD2 i would NEVER get a blackberry, but i would Not tell people they are no good because phones cater for all differant needs. I love my HD2 & 90% of the people on here do as well & its the real Techno buffs on here that make this Hd2 phone even better & pass that info on to other people on here , this is what people like to come here for not slag offs or wars on 'My phones better then yours'
Glad your happy with your blackberry! :o)

With regards to setting mail attachments to be saved to SD card instead of device, how do you do that? There are some applications that saved themselves to the device memory despite me having chose to install them on the SD card when prompt the save location.. any help on this? Lastly, have you ever encountered instances when your hd2 just shuts down on its own and it cant be turned on by pressing the on/off button, and the only way to on the phone is to physically remove and put back the battery? Thanks for your time and help!

Man, I've finally finished installing/testing my US HD2.

It's been 2 days. Quite nuts compared to the i900 that I gave to my w*f*.

I've experienced quite some freezes. I've done a lot of hard resets and soft resets. But it is all cool now.

Without HTC sense, the OS is pretty blend. Many stuffs are hidden, changed, not there, or not quite compatible.

            I do miss the stylus!!!!!!!!!!
Missing the CTRL in the keyboard is really a big deal to me.

i900 buttons are better (e.g. mouse and camera button).

The free 16GB microsdhc is close to full. I will have to go to the new 32GB really soon. $$$.

Overall, it's a good phone. I just HATE using the virtual keyboard, even on a 4.3" screen.

Wifi and 3G connections are a blast!!! Every settings are hidden by the manufacturer, and even by T-Mobile. I simply got the best plan. Lucky I don't live in Texas.

Well, this may surprise some people. After all the hype, I thought I got lucky when I bought one yesterday to get off a Blackberry. I returned it less than 24 hrs later with great relief. Dealing with Windows Mobile again after years of BB was like a bad dream. Forget about using this as a business tool, it'll drive you nuts. The touch screen can be a real pain unless you figure out the typical convoluted Windows Mobile BS(yes, that's BS, not OS)to make it work for you. Even then you'll have links and buttons that don't respond or take you to unexpected places. They must be for decoration. The email features are a joke (compared to Blackberries). Even the time kept changing on its own after setting it repeatedly. These are just a few samplers, be prepared. Sure it looks great and can do all the useless stuff very well, even with the soon to be obsolete OS. But if you plan to use it for efficient and reliable communication or for business, it's a nightmare to behold that will give you anxiety and raise your blood pressure. Beware.

Maree, 25 Mar 2010Hi Anthony, you were saying that you can run all of the 13 ... moreIm able to run all that at the same time because…
                        1. I manage my free RAM and ROM my self and don’t depend on an automated program to do it for me.

                        2. I deleted all the pictures in “My pictures” & “My Wallpapers” and use my own.
I deleted all files in “My Ringtones” and use my own.
------- “My Music” and use my own.
Deleted all files in “Animated Wallpaper”
Deleted all files in “Rings” because they are duplicates
Deleted “copilot” because I never installed or used it.
I installed all programs to the SD. (that is the ones that gave the option)
Set each program that saves files to save to SD by default.
Set email attachments to go to the SD.
Doing all that free up ROM space, that lets me run more programs at the same time.
Programs like Opera, skyfire, google maps and more, buffer files to the ROM

                        3. Installed “MMTaskManager” so I can do my own RAM management on the fly.

                        4. Installed “Touch X longpress sindkey alt tab” to switch between app without having to go to the home screen or start menu.

                        5. Thanks to cookie home tab, I can turn off weather animation on home screen when I need more juice to push more apps at the same time. (that animation looks good but it is a recourses killer. You will find that if you tap your top bar from any other screen other than the clock screen it will respond fast. The slow response is because of the animation)

                        6. as for the battery icon you can change it to “smaberg 100%Battery for 1.66ROMS” so you will also see a digital % count down of the life.

Changing to a cooked ROM that gives you more RAM will be a big help. But I can’t do that because footprints & digital compass menu integration is missing from every cooked rom I have tried and I use that or they are buggy with “cookie home tab” and I just love that interface.

Hi Anthony, you were saying that you can run all of the 13 progs/applications at the same time without your phone lagging badly? I am also using the HTC official rom 1.66 but when i tried to run only a few progs/apps concurrently, e.g listening to music on winmo player and surfing the net using opera, I can already feel the lag. I had tried re-installing all the progs that i had installed on my device to my SD card and do frequent RAM cleanups using cleanRam but the situation did not improve. I also have the habit of touching the top of the screen to see new notifications/battery life but i realised it has been taking very long to go into that page. I had thought of changing to a cooked ROM as the hidden ram will be unlocked but i'm unsure about this. Please advice, thanks and God bless!

Found this on the web about HTC phone designs for this year and on. One thing that stood out to me was this "HTC plans to launch some new gadgets in early October. Spokesman Keith Nowak says rumors of a netbook are off base, but gadget blogs have uncovered images of some unreleased phones, including a Windows Mobile 6.5 device with a large touch screen".

Could this be the HD3?? I think the HD3 will come in both WM7 (Consumer) and a WM6.5 version (Business).

Liverpool, 25 Mar 2010Hi Anthony,,,, could u tell me please what type of phone hd... moreThis phone has a WVGA/ WideVGA screen, so VGA will work for programs that don’t have WVGA.
WideQuarterVGA or QuarterVGA programs, font and interface will look too small on this phone. And you would need a stylus to use it.
The native VGA resolution is 640x480
The naming of the rest was done base on that.
