anthony.......how do I upgrade to 1.66 rom as i've checked and mine is 1.43....what are benefits as I'm notthat up on techy stuff!!

I have been using HD2 for the last 2 weeks.
I am get... more Your Data problem is a common one with this phone and is easily solved with one of 2 free programs. “BsB Tweaks” or “HD2 Tweak”.
Use any one of the 2, to disable “data” (that will block your SIM from going online but you will still get calls) then turn on the Wi-Fi
Need to know…
1. You have to install .net 3.5 cf redistributed to get BsB tweaks to work.
2. When you lunch BsB tweaks, blocking data is in the menu lower right.
3. If you use HD2 tweak it is possible to block Data but still get MMS. BsB will block both at the same time.
4. HD2 tweak & BsB tweaks can be used together but don’t try to set the same things in both or one will contradict the other.

At this point and time I'm done with WM and HTC. I've been using WM phones and PDA's for around 10 years now. I've had to buy into the next OS everytime a new OS came out. Well that time is over. I will look to other OS systems and hardware manufactuers for my next phone... Trueth be told I was looking at Andriod every since SE X10 was annouced. I liked the look of the UI. I've even posted that on the site before. But I new the OS was new. My plan has alway been to update in two years. By then I think the Andriod will be alot better then, and better Andriod phones and apps will be out....
So the decision made my HTC and MS made my decision to leave easier........
Enough said on the WM7 issue...... It's time to move on. I'm not devistated, just disappointed with the news from HTC and WM..... But I'm moving on......... Still will keep my HD2 for business for now..... At least til 2012???????? I don't buy phones to flip them.... I buy for my needs and the HD2 fits my needs now.......

They say problem is no. of hardware keys. This is weird because 5 keys (also seen in Diamond2) actually improves WinMo 6.1/6.5/6.5.3 experience. WinMo's complete overhaul means they now are making something that not only can do without 2 extra keys but it also despises it. Weird ways of Microsoft.
And by the way microSD and microSDHC "share the same physical and electrical form factor" and devices supporting one can be made to read the other format by a firmware upgrade.

If you really what to get rid of some of the problems you are having with this phone.
1. Upgrade ROM to 1.66 (i make calls down to 1% and then the phone dies)
2. Install .net 3.5 cf redistributed and BsB tweaks 1.6 (will be able to decrease sensitivity in there if you like.)
1. 1.66 will fix your light sensor bug

Hopefully Nokia will fill the space now even bigger by the rewamp of WinMo

i have already seen the spb shell 3.5 and i think the theme is too crowded...
and when i buy it what is this ROM's version ??

Main disadvantages :
It's a pretty large phone
Poor sunlight legibility
65K color limitation of display has color gradients banding
Card slot under the battery cover
Disappointing photo and video quality
No dedicated camera key and no lens cover
No DivX/XviD video support out-of-the-box
Preloaded CoPilot Live navigation software is a trial version
No secondary video-call camera
No voice dialing
No handwriting recognition
Dodgy web Flash support
... are quiet serious.
And now no Windows Phone 7 upgrade.
Good for them who have already bought it but no future prospects for this one.

I have been using HD2 for the last 2 weeks.
I am getting charged from the Network Provider when I am surfing Net through HD2 at home, (I have wifi at home),when the wifi is on and Data Connection is off. Can anyone help me how to connect via wifi only not through the network provider's connection, when there is a wifi available.

My biggest mistake ever was i shifted from iphone to this stupid brick .
no reception when the battery reaches the 20%.
the screen is so sensitive and cannot be calibrated.
cannot open attachments bigger than 2 mb.
the speakers are so noisy and the sound is not clear.
when making calls the screen dims out but it never back on again when the call is disconnected .
and it won't be winmo 7 upgradable.

Friend, 02 Mar 2010Worst music player. no bass effect...there is no bass at all but don't blame the player. its the lame "ear set" if you use it with a good set of ear buds you will get all the bass you want.

Hi All,
Typing with our without T9 is really messy in HD2. Also, recording and playback of videos(MP4) is jerky. Any solutions?
Am using 1.4x rom.
