easily the best and fast... morei agree, dutty's 1.9 is the best! flashed it last night and loving it!
things to note, new opera 9.7 seems really fast and smooth. (perfect cause i dont like opera 10 mainly because of the lack of pinch zooming). even page loading and rendering is faster.
new sense seems faster and less heavy on ram. also like the new send button in messaging. even no stutter on the home screen when the weather animation is on (experienced this in all stock roms).
keyboard seems more responsive and precise but not 100% sure yet.
better ram management (on 1.66 stock when opera is in the background it takes 3 seconds to open)
quicker program loading (opera opens in less than 2 seconds now as opposed to 8-10 seconds).
no copilot which frees loads of storage space (dutty removed all the things i dont need and added all the things i need -perfect!). and i dont need copilot since i have garmin on my storage card which is flawless btw.
clean start menu, all very well organised in folders, now i can bring only the things i need to the top.
settings button takes u straight to all settings and not htc settings :D
did i mention that its extremely fast?
great rom, highly recommended for all who know how to flash!

easily the best and fastest rom to date i tried most of the latest and this one seems to be bugless and extremely fast while being as close to stock as possible, highly worth changing

Hi all ,
Is the 1.66 rom for european versions only or also for asian versions and is it an official ROM from htc itself?
i am running the 1.48 720.2
what is the advantage of upgrading it to 1.66 from 1.48 and more inportantly where can i download the 1.66 version from as i dont see it on the htc India website ?

So far I have been using Nokia... moreBoth phones have their Pro’s and con’s so i can’t pick for you.
I know what i need and look for in a phone and if i was now looking to change from my HD and had to pick between HD2 & N900, i would still go with the HD2. It meets my needs.
I’m not into buying every new phone that comes out so when i make a change it’s because the technology jump from my old phone to the new phone is big and not just skin deep.

I know about the wait you are talking about when sms are loading. It happens when a contact has allot of messages. I had that problem when i just got my phone and it had the 1.43 ROM on it and i had imported over 300 sms from my HD. But that has been fixed in the 1.66 ROM upgrade (which i now use) and i think it has also been fixed for the older roms with a patch you can get on the HTC web site.

T-mobile USA is getting the US 3G version.
What is selling now will only give you 2G in the USA.

Try doing a hard reset/factory reset. Your audio drivers may have gotten corrupted.
If that don’t work. It could be that you really did bust the speaker. :-(

Radio (not to be confused with FM Radio, duh!) = The program engine that controls the wireless connections of your HD2, meaning phone signal reception (GSM), data connections (2G, 3G, GPRS, HSDPA...), navigation (GPS), wifi and bluetooth. It also controls sound and camera. It is part of official ROMs and is issued by HTC. Radio version must be compatible with OS to work properly. It subsequently changes (improve or worsen) your battery life. You can actually install a specific radio without installing a whole ROM. You will need to use HSPL first, of course. You'll find all official and leaked Radio for HD2 in this thread. It has also be proven here that installing the 2.06.50.4 or 2.07.50.27_2 Radios can somehow "unlock" the full use of 576 Mb or RAM, instead of standard 448 Mb. No other radio (older or newer) has that ability. Note that the radio has to be installed along with some patch on the ROM to make it work.

JP, 19 Feb 2010i agree that x2 is slow but at least you can type a decent ... moreto be honest the only thing that I liked about X2 was the keyboard which was lovely .I am using TouchPal 4 on my HD2 and SPB keyboard which full screen size ,I am using myself samsung omnia pro B7320 as my second phone only for emails.but my personal idea about WM it should perform fast and smoth.

Anthony, 20 Feb 2010I bet your phone is running the old ROM. if you did the 1.6... moreAnthony U wanted to know if anyone tried Dutty Leo HG V.09 [5.2.21892.5.0.89]. I've been using it now for a day or so and it's really nice. It's fast and smooth. You can use it on a daily basis with no problems. So far so good for me.... The only thing I noticed was a problem syncing. When U first set it up it sync's fine, but when U disconect and try to sync later it's slow to sync. It might take 10 or 15 min for it to sync, but it will sync. Sometimes I have to reset the HD2 with it hooked to my laptop for it to sync (no big deal. I don't sync everyday. Maybe every other day or so. Other than that it runs smooth for me. I'll stick with this one for now. I was using Touch It ROM which was good as well. The reason why I stuck with Dutty is for one I'm tired of setting up my phone after trying different ROM's, and also his ROM has a reg edit program built in.........
I say give this ROM a try....... You can also read a review of this ROM on HTCPedia wed site.... Enjoy the ROM............................................

I hope HTC makes WM7 as an update for the HD2, because that's why I purchased it........ If they don't then I will look else where for my next WM7 phone...... Other players will have WM7 phones as well......... I do agree that in order to take full advantage of WM7, you will need a better phone spec wise. The HD2 spec's are GOOD, but as we all know, better phones than the HD2 is on the horizon (late 2010, 2011, and 2012)... I just want to try WM7 on the HD2 to get a feel for it, before I buy a new phone in 2011 or 2012?????? What else that gets me about WM7 is the non customization. That's big to me..............

Simz, 19 Feb 2010The phone pretty good (on paper) but could be better when y... moreI bet your phone is running the old ROM. if you did the 1.66. rom upgrade you would not have that sms loading problem. matter of fact if you install the hot fix. that loading problem will stop on any ROM.
