Making it no better than a HTC TOUCH HD with a win mo 6.5 cooked rom. But it will cost you more than doing that. So why waste your time buying HD2 mini later? If you think HD2 is to big just get a HTC touch HD now and mod it.

      Just dropped my HD2 on the concret ground...................................................... Luckly I purchased a hard plastic case from ebay. That really protected my phone. The only damage was to the case top corner........... I would say get a hardcase for your HD2. It's a GOOD investment to protect the phone. It was in a leather case that had the top exposed (hardcase was secondary protection)..........

        HTC is going to release HD2 mini. I knew it when they released a presently complete mobile phone with a large (too large???) screen.

        I will buy the mini; maybe it will be 3.5 or 3.2 inches

          Im looking at buying a HD2 in the near future and was just wanting to read up on what you can/cant do to winmo. I have come across flashing the ROM and Cooked ROMs. Now, im a total n00b when it comes to this and i want to change that. Now, whats a ROM? Is it like the firmware/software on it? When you flash the ROM is that the winmo equivalent of jailbreaking an iphone? If you could please just tell me what a ROM and a Cooked ROM is in the simplest form than i will be really happy.

Not your SIM servic... moreHi Anthony, soz but I cant seem to find any paperwork that advises how long my warranty lasts - I presume its the usual 12-month period... unless I do something to invalidate it like use a registry editor or the like(!)
            I see that "Arcanus" has just posted his success in upgrading his Vodaphone HD2 to the new 1.66 ROM, and has unlocked the extra RAM too, so would love to try this too - although being a newbie to WinMo I'm paranoid about getting something wrong.
            Whilst I appreciate you have given detailed advice on this forum, is there a step-by-step "Dummys Guide To..." upgrading the ROM for hard-of-thinking newbies like me?

I say give it a try if you don't like it, go back to HTC ROM???????? Only thing I hate is installing software back on the phone. But this time I'm going to put on just the software I need. The last time I put on like 22 games and around 11 apps. Also I plan on keeping a log on what I install to HD2 memory and what apps I install to storage card to make it easier next time (WM7 update)............................

                  B2K, 11 Feb 2010FYI, I got mine from eXpansys UK and it came with the 1.... moreMines doesn't work... I can only download with my S/N if it list United Kingdom ROM... Right now I'm using custom ROMs (Miri ROM v2. Will put on v4 tonight)....
                  The Miri ROM v2 works well on my HD2... I think the v4 has the NEW eBook Reader Tab that's on the TMobile HD2 coming out.... Will post later on the results of the Miri ROM v4???????

                  Now since I can update my ROM with custom ROMs I'm like a kid in a candy STORE......... Just trying to see which one works the best until WM7 comes from HTC......

                    I got mine from eXpansys UK and it came with the 1.48 WWE ROM. I'm using 1.66.405.2 WWE now ;) i.e. my serial worked in the HTC site.

It has been a bit busy for me lately. ya i will considering to do an upgrade for practicing purposes and of course at the same time i want to have really good experince with my first WinMo phone ( HTC HD2). I am still trying to catch up with what you guys have been talking from the previous post like how to cook the ROM and increase the RAM.
                      Please assist me as i am very new with WinMo and i will let you know when i am ready. It has been 2 weeks now that i use this phone and i really enjoy it so much:)

                        hello

                        i can tell u that i am with vodafone uk

                        which is crap! vodafone does not support the HD2
                        so every single cust that had a HD2 from vodafone are stuck with the factory software which was causing problems! vodafone will not aprove any software upgrade for this phone anymore!

                        how stupid is that????

                        but thanks to anthony i got the problem solved! i've dobe the HSPL and after the upgrade to the ROM Leo 1.66 WWE

                        which is working fine! now i am looking to upgrade to the Miri ROM which unlocks the extra RAM on the phone!

                        So i defenitly advise to do the HSPL for who ever haves dealer phone do it :D

                          But you are using cooked roms now, so that doesn’t matter to you anyway.
                          I’m just saying if you are going back to original roms there will be no need to go back to what you had if you can move on to HTC UK factory ROM.

                          All the phones have a region lock that is what the SPL is (it will not block you from using different SIM’s but I will block you from changing to a rom that was not intended for you.)
                          On the other hand some providers get HTC to put in a SIM lock for there branded ROM’s to keep you from taking the phone and going to a next provider.
                          But thanks to SSPL and HSPL we can get around that.

                                  I would like to think if they were having problems I would be the first to know seeing I was the one that helped them make the change.
