But I would wait to get the phone that can... moreI'm thinking whatever UI HTC puts on top of 7 will not need the full version and would do a much better job at media without Microsoft bulky code slowing it down. that's why there is talk of 2 versions. One for the manufacturer that makes there own UI and the other for manufacturers that not going to add anything to it at all. You have the HD2 so you know it came with windows media player (for audio and video) and added to that HTC made there own audio player that is better and plays more formats. Also video player that is better and plays more formats. When last you use the windows media player 10.3 for any thing? If I could strip it off my self I would, to have more free space on my ROM. HTC has always done better at making media players for there phones than Microsoft in the pass, present and most likely in the future. So why have two players if you only need one?

HTC HD2 has been entered Turkey Market yet. I m planning to buy this phone but I need some suggestion who bought and used this phone. I knew It's advantages and disadvantages but I need recommendation, who used this phone. Phone is over 1000$ so I have to make good decision.
I m looking forward to see you advise

The car charger that came with it works.
But the glass suction is a dud. Only if your car has a flat windscreen would that small suction cup work on it. The only glass I could get it to stick to in the car was the door glass (and what good is it to me there?) lucky for me they did follow some standers and I was able to use the part that holds the phone on the universal mount I had for my HTC Touch HD. The problem I had with that was the button for the adjustable arms was cheap plastic so it broke.
So now my working combination is the suction and neck from the universal mount, with the cell holder and charger from the new mount. It’s a good thing they both use the same standard connection to hook the neck to the cell holder.

The hot fix on the HTC site now are for the old roms only.
The 1.66 rom is more efficient in using ram and CPU and already has the fixes as part of it. But it looks like that is all was done. So yes I still use HD2 Tweak and BsB Tweeks .net3.5 and all the rest to modify hidden settings
Skyfire has no pinch to zoom but it has double tap to zoom and the zoom icon.
Also unlike Opera you don’t have to zoom-in to click links, It supports flash video and java script.

It has amd Gpu of course and 128 ram only for the gpu or 64 in the latest discoveries ;)
If you install the latest rom which is from 25 01 2010 :) you don't need the fixes + its pretty fast :) and its 1.66 :) check out xda-developers for more info :)

After installing the latest ROM, did you have to install any of the fixes that are below the ROM upgrade? Also, did you install BsB or HD2 tweaks?

1. Does hd2 have any hardware graphics accelerator? If not then how come this thing shoows such awesome weather effects?
2. Does skyfire support multi touch?

Phone manufactures are not gong to stop making new phones with better specs’ so when ever you buy, what ever you buy… it will not be killer spec’s for more than 1-2 years. So telling someone to wait a year to get killer spec’s, you mite just say wait forever. Because after windows 7 will be 8 and so on. It never stops.

Well...it took at least 1 day for my Gmail/Hotmail and Facebook to fully sync with my HTC HD2, and I still can't sync my Outlook because we use an exchange server and (so far) my IT guys can't work out how to get them talking to each other.
Having said that, our sister office uses only HTC HD2s instead of BBs and apparently they have no issues (presumably their server is POP or IMAP - I'm using words I don't understand here I'm no techie, sorry guys).
It is taking a while to get used to using a touch screen again after my Samsung Tocco broke and I was left with an ancient Nokia for the last couple of months.
It all seems a bit much, but I've been greatly rewarded by the speed and reliability of it's wifi and wap connectivity.
- Question for HD2 owners: if you set the alarm and turn the phone off will it auto-turn on? I set it this morning but it didn't go off. Any clues?

Should've waited for HD3, but needed another phone so I'm glad I puchased the HD2....... But this time around I will wait for the killer spec phones to come in 2010 Q4 and 2011 Q1...... In my earlier post I did say we will see killer phones in 2011 & 2012.......
If you can wait? I would til 2011...........

I wait for US version of the HD3 if it comes out. But will get a phone with more storage and TRUE HD video (playing and recording 1080P or 720P). If not HTC will go with whoever comes with killer spec's.

i played around with this phone in the shops for 20min!! there was basically no lag when navigating around the menu and the phone truly is hd judging by the same pictures. the pictures looked so real. i never went for windows mobile but this is a winner. however i am gonna wait for the hd3 and hope they have a 12mp camera, a secondary videocall camera, amoled screen, etc.
