I have been using HD2 since last December and i admit that this is one of the best windows mobile i have ever used. But...

The Indian ROM version is 1.48 and it has problems when it comes to SMSing. I am not a heavy user of messages but in last almost 2 months i have come across a problem thrice and i.e. that the SMS stay in outbox after sending and gets delivered after a day or two. This problem remains even after downloading the SMS hotfix(not available on india site.)

    Has anyone seen this? The TMO HD2 to have more ROM and RAM? Read this from a web site:

    "When the monstrous specs for the U.S. version of the HD2 were revealed, many current HD2 owners were a little peeved to find that it’ll have a lot more RAM and ROM available than its predecessor. The unit slated to be released in the U.S. will have 1GB of ROM and 576MB of RAM, compared to 512MB of ROM and 448MB of RAM found on current HD2s. This lead to the theory that the U.S. version will be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 7, while the original version gets left behind. Recently, current owners have gone from angry to hopeful, as there’s news that all HD2s may have 576MB of RAM available – and that it’s just “hidden.” Perhaps it’s just been sitting dormant, waiting to be unleashed?"

    If this is true i'll be peeved too if the TMO version has more ROM and RAM. If this doesn't get WM7, i'll have to think twice about another HTC phone.......

        This is the first 24 hours of owning my HTC HD2. I have been playing it all day long with its features.
        My experiences are:

        1) The screen display is vivid, bright and sharp. I cant take my eyes off from it. Awesome and gorgeous!

        2) Touch responsiveness is very good

        3) Build quality is excellent.

        4) Very sleek and slim, not big at all.

        However,

        1) The battery life is kinda weak, I was playing games, personalized it (30 mins), battery dropped from 100% to 90%. Is it common for a 4.3 inch with 1Ghz CPU beast?

        2) The phone freezed for the frst time when I was trying to play the default music (please note that I havent store anything in both of my ROM or 8Gb SD card yet). Why is this happening?

        3) The camera is decent, but photo quality is really not up to my expecttion. Maybe I cant really expect much from a WM.

        4) The audio quality is decent. I felt that audio is mono rather than stereo. It gets distorted when I was trying to increase the volume.

        Shall I bear with it or get other phones? Somehow I felt that multifunction or multitask smart phones should really have excellent battery life in order to accomodate its powerful features, not letting the users (on the road) worry and "sip and save" the battery until they reached home. It really defeat the purposes of having a great device.

            I save my second cell as "Assistant"
            And when you want to send a text to that #, all you have to do is write the text as normal from that contacts text window but just before you send. Tap “menu” and tap on "Recipient Phone Number" if you want to use a next Number other than the default cell #.
            You may also not know you can change how individual contacts are filed in “All People”
            Put first & last name in there correct fields, also put Company name if you have it but before you are done, tap on “more” and you see a field called “File as” from there you can say how you want that contact filed.

              Second day on the run with my HD2 and so far all is well.. finally a touch device that is almost as sensitive (receptive) as my iphone. I love it to be honest.. It delivers all that it promises and more.. a few mental notes/questions though:

              1. Not a device issue, but Win Mobile not allowing you to add a 2nd mobile number for each contact is beyond annoying..!! So many people have two mobiles nowadays (work/home) and I do not want to add their numbers as Car or Fax for SMS logistics to say the least.

              2. It is huge.. I feel like I am talking into a tablet PC.

              3. The keys (buttons) in the bottom are fidgety.. the whole fun is brilliant craftsmanship why mess here htc?

              4. The pre-installed ringtones are amazing.

              Question.. I remember the Diamond's charger had a LED display that glowed HTC while charging.. this one doesn't? Can anyone please confirm this?

And i definitly put it in corectly because it worked for the first rom upgrade witch i dw from the same site....but as i read that update has nothing to do with the sms problem...

                    As far as I can see the only thing different is I didn’t have to install the hotfix files and I hear a song when the phone start that was not there before.
                    I can’t even say if the sms problem was fixed because I did not have that problem.
                    I really wanted the new voice recorder I’m seeing on cooked roms as the updated HTC recorder. And they didn’t even put that in. this update must be for performance because I can’t find any other thing new.

                        Anthony, 28 Jan 2010i hope you did net mistake a "zero" for a "O... moreYeah at first i did that but now that s not the problem because the first rom update was applicable for my rom verion ,however that update doesn t fix the sms bug...as to the date of the rom update ,just went on the htc web site and noticed that they took all the rom updates off ....i don t get it ...

                                      I got it on htc UK. WWE 1.66.405.2
                                      It was only available as of yesterday I think. But the release date marked on it is 2010-01-25
                                      And there is no doc tab
