Just an update as I've had the following reply fr... morethe bad driver is in your O2 ROM.
HTC can't give authorisation for you to breach your O2 Contract by taking off the O2 ROM. They would get into legal trouble for saying that. You have to remember they signed agreement with O2. And O2 not going to give you there ok because they don't want you to take off there sim lock and be able to use the phone with a next provider. But I don't work for any of them, so I don't have to play by there rules.
Talk to "ProjectCM3" I helped him change his German O2 HD2, over to the updated English Europe ROM. And if I'm not mistaken he is still using his German O2 sim in it. Find out from him if he is having any problems using any of the O2 services after he made the unauthorised change.

Just an update as I've had the following reply from HTC with regards to the onoing fault with my the music player feature on my phone:
"This could be a driver conflict and we recommend to try a hard reset on it make sure that you back up all your data before the reset. If the problem still going on after this then contact us +44 ********** and we will send your device to be repaired"
No suggestion was made with regards to changing the ROM from 1.43 (as installed by O2) to the latest UK release...
Given the lack of similar posts from HD2 owners I still can't believe no one else seems to have any problem with this feature on the phone.

Anthony, 27 Jan 2010ProjectCM3 you have a HD2 that you got from O2 Germany and ... moreYes I do own a German O2 bought HD2. However, I am still currenly living in Munich, Germany. I changed the language because it's easier for me to understand English than it is German.
The reason I purchased it from O2 Germany is because:
1. I live here, so it made sense.
2. O2 Germany has a program called "My Handy" which translates to "My Mobile/Cell" Basically what it means is that based off of the price of the phone you are looking at purchasing, stretched over a 2 year period, you pay every month for the phone of your choice. In my case, the HD2 is 559 Euros total price. 99 Euros down payment, afterwards 20 Euros a month for 2 years... so 20 euros times 24 months = 480 plus the 99 Euros down payment...total price is 580 Euros :)
And yes, with the amazing help of Anthony, I managed to download the SSPL needed to install the English Europe Version Language ROM from htcpedia (of which you must be a member of in order to download...don't worry, it's free of charge) and the whole installation process was painless and took less than 10 minutes once I had all the necessary things.

If neccesary, Anthony or I can post the installation procedures, or who ever is looking at installing the ROM can make themselves useful and look up the installation instructions that were posted by Anthony in the previous posts :)
Now a question of my own: Has anyone figured out a way of fixing the "AUDIO BOOSTER" option, of once it is selected, is STAYING selected?
