Anthony, 10 Jan 2010So because some people have problems. You think all the HD... moreWell that isn't what I wrote or what was implied by what I wrote. I said that there were a large number of people with problems, not that everyone had problems. I also went to talk about someone testing seven HD2's and finding that four of them had unusable keyboards and three were good and I talked about the possibility of sample variation beyond the norm being the issue.

So far every handset I've tried over the last seven weeks has had the same problems so if I bought any of them I would have had problems.

BTW People DO report when their phones have no issues usually in response to others that are seeing problems. You will see some people on Xda Developers who say that they have absolutely no problem with their keyboard. Also you can look at the post I made a couple of days ago linking to a thread on Xda Developers where people were asked about several problems in a poll. Some had none of the specific problems mentioned in that poll thread.

Back to the sample variation point; we've seen so few handsets being shipped compared to the kind of numbers that HTC normally have to supply and we've seen shortages and backorder situations that normally don't exist which makes me wonder if there are any production issues that need to be overcome. I talked to HTC's UK distributor several times through November and December and the delivery situation wasn't good.

NE, 10 Jan 2010Hey our HD2-guy Anthony. can you tell us what's the differ... moreAmoled is a screen type where each pixel light its self.
With the tft screen the pixels need a back light.
Because amoled pixels light them self you can see them very bright under any light and the phone use less power because it does not have to power a back light.

Which phone selling now did you see with a screen res. of 1289x720?

The HD2 only has a screen res. of 480x800 so there is no point in trying to look at a movie higher than 480res on it. you will not see more than that no matter what OS is on the phone. It it is even worst for the iPhone because its screen res. is only 320x480 so there is no point watching a movie higher than 320res on its screen.

Zulu, 10 Jan 2010Hi anthony, From where do you download games for the hd2. ... moreThere is bubble breaker and solitaire on this phone. You have to go in the Windows folder and make a shortcut to it in the games folder.

                      As for downloading games
The guy called "some 15 year old" gave a link to a site with a lot of free games. Just join the site to be able to download. I did try a few and they did work and they are free. He really was not joking. By now his post may be on page 2 or 3

F01, 10 Jan 2010I have said in my previous posts that I have tried several ... moreSo because some people have problems.
You think all the HD2's are no good?

And if you buy one, the one you get will be no good?

And htc only make fixes when all the phones have the same problem?

And people who have problem free phones may not see it as important to report that on xda is totality impossible to you?

And people here that say they have no problems are all lying?

Forgive me if I don't see it that way.
I was telling you if you want one go try one and if the keys work good on that one buy it. But I'm sorry for trying to let you know that they are not all bad.

For those of you that use or don't use footprints because you think it is nice but the info is only for on your phone... you should know that footprints can be exported as a .kmz file to the memory card and can be opened in Google earth.
This is a easy way to email your footprints for friends from around the world to see.

Anthony, 10 Jan 2010It is funny that you believe the reports that you ready but... moreI have said in my previous posts that I have tried several units from different places during the last seven weeks and that this was what convinced me to wait and also that the problems were not solved. Perhaps you need to re-read my posts if you missed that.

I read that YOU didn't have those problems but I had some of them on several handsets and there are a large number of other people who have also had problems - go to Xda Developers and see.

In fact there are enough people with problems that some of them have produced software to try and eliminate these problems (or perhaps you think they produced the software for nothing?).

Furthermore HTC have produced a new ROM and five Hot Fixes so far (all of which should be applied to the phone). Do you think they would have done this if the only problem with the phone was the pink spot issue?

I said in a post a day or two ago that one person with access to multiple phones tried seven of them and found that the keyboards on 3 were great but that on 4 they were unusable. That points to the possibility of sample variation far beyond the norm, which could explain why HTC shipped the phone with these issues - they just didn't see them on their test devices.

However, just because YOU haven't experienced a problem (other than the pink spot issue) doesn't mean that others haven't. As I said there's a whole forum full of people at Xda Developers and from what I've seen many of them have experienced more than just the pink camera issue and HTC keeps churning out updates.

Also it seems that HTC have begun silently fixing bugs. The SIM Contacts update from last week apparently also updated the Radio (unannounced), which may fix a problem that some users were having that is similar to the one that the Google Nexus One users are having.

I'm hoping for a full fix for these issues from HTC but please don't try to say that your experience is the experience of everyone else. My personal experience, the reports from a large number of other users, the software made to fix problems by other users and the stream of fixes from HTC all say otherwise.
