if you don't then you did not install it.

    What i gave you was a link to the task manager that looks like the one in the original HD.
    If you look at the picture of the HD2 right in this forum you will see the icon i was talking about to the right of the battery icon. If you want the old school task manager, you will have to find task manager in the windows folder and make a shortcut to it in the start menu folder. Then add it to your quick links on the home screen.

I... more Because capacitive screens a activated by the small amount of electricity all living tissue generate and not by the touch, just raping your hand around the phone and letting the tips of your finger touch the edge of the screen would generate a response. This was never a problem with a resistive screen because you had to press it to get a response.
      Before i could rest my hand on the screen while thinking what to press next and i did that without knowing i was doing it. I can’t do that anymore on this capacitive screen because how capacitive screens are activated. So that sensitivity tweak was made to help some people with their transition between the two technologies
      I am happy to say i never used it...

You have to remember this is the first wm phone to have it. Before this we all had to press to get a response and to us that was normal. My iphone friends would touch my old HD screen and get frustrated when nothing happened and I always have to tell them “press not touch.” To which I would get the response “I feel I will break it… iphone is way better with the interface” but none of them say that when they use the HD2 because capacitive is what they are accustom to.

              Glad it's worked out for you. I did see one interesting post on Xda Devs back in December from someone that said he had access to seven phones and three were perfect and four were next to useless for typing.

              This made me think that there could possibly be some kind of manufacturing issue and also explains why some people are adamant that it's useless and others say that it's fine (but then if there were no problem the screen sensitivity tweaks wouldn't have been created).

              I can tell you that sweat isn't a problem here, I'm in the UK and it's freezing... literally.

                Ok people that thinking about the cooked roms...
                I tried 2 new cooked roms this morning and sad to say.. I’m going back to HTC 1.48 once again.
                Still not ready for my every day use.
                Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (28205/23518) ROM :: Sense 2.5 :: V 1.0
                Has a new version of wm6.5 that looks nicer (and I’m talking about where you see the wm interface not the sense interface) but the rom is still missing too many things
                I also was trying out the Touch-IT BL – 23518 rom which was great. I was thinking i was going to stay with it........ Then i tried to open a word .doc and it said “Word Mobile cannot open. Please reset your device and try again”
                This rom is also using the new win mo 6.5 and Office Mobile 2010.
                So it’s back to HTC 1.48 rom till i see that cookers have worked out some more bugs in their rom.

                    My rom was 1.43
                    I have also used 1.48 on it
                    And the only bug i have had is the "Pink"
                    I love the onscreen QWERTY on this phone. i am so comfortable with it that now that i think about it.... i never even tried the other modes. i did manage to "F-up” my T9 once when i change the manila with a tweak to French just to see what it looked like and when i changed back the t9 was only giving me what i think is crap. But a factory reset fixed that.
                    Other than that. I have used tweaks to turn on/off features and to add features but i can't say that is a bug... can i?
                    “O” the capacitive screen does not play nice with wet hands like the resistive screen did. So if you leave a trail of sweat the screen would behave like i was still pressing where the sweat marks are. But that is not a problem of this phone only. I was first told about it even before i got the phone as a warning from a friend that had an iPhone. So people wipe the sweat marks/water of your screen (will affect people that live in hot climates like me more)

                      What about typing?

                      I've found that the HD2 keyboard is useless to type on, which was rather surprising considering I can type just fine on the Nokia N810, the Samsung Omnia II, the iPhone, the HTC Hero, the T-Mobile Pulse, the iPhone... you get the idea. However the keyboard seems to be the same one that is on the HTC Hero and I have no problems with that.

                      After trying the phone for the first time in November I described what I called "ghost presses" on this forum. A couple of weeks ago I saw people talking about the same thing on Xda Developers.

                      I know that there have been attempts to fix this by the community by reducing sensitivity of the screen and the leaked 1.6.1 ROM also tries to improve this but none really seem to fix the problem. Besides I find the screen sensitivity to be perfect for doing everything else.

                      Also, what about the other issues that have been reported such as the painting edge, the straight line issue (electrocardiography), the shaking screen, the non-pressed key and the self typing keyboard, have you checked for them?

                      I've seen something like the painting edge issue on every phone I've tried so far except it seems to exit applications and take me back to the home screen sometimes at random but pretty much always when I rotate the phone from Landscape to Portrait mode while I'm composing either an email or an SMS message (I've never tested it with Notes in drawing mode).

                            The patch i needed from HTC was the one for the “Pink” and that patch worked for me.
                            I only did the rom update just because i wanted the new rom.

                              Samsung used OMAP3430 processor to its Omnia i8910 HD that enables to encode/decode at D1 (720x480) only but Samsung managed to enable 720p HD video recording to Omnia i8910 HD .

                              On the other hand, HTC used on its HD2, the Qualcomm QSD8250 1GHz chipset capable of 720p High-Definition video decoding but disabled because its operating system, Windows Mobile does not recognize HD video and they’re calling it HTC TOUCH HD2, anyway.

                                If it's March and you're interested but want to get a phone on contract, I'd consider holding out for the HTC Bravo.

                                      I know that but I've seen people having this problem with SIM free and branded phones. Also what's even worse is that if the Hot Fix works it seems to only fix it for a while before you're back to sending messages to the wrong person.

                                        I'm in a similar position. I want to get this phone but I've tried different units extensively over the last 7 weeks and it just has too many problems for me to buy it right now. I was hoping to wait until the 1.6.x ROM is officially released but I still see people using the leaked 1.6.1 ROM with the same problems and the phone has been out for almost two months now and there is still no sign of working fixes from HTC. I may hang on for WM 6.5.3 but after if HTC can't fix the phone then I'll write it off as a bad lot and move on.

                                        Alternatives:

                                        You didn't say what you wanted from a phone so I'm going to assume a large screen is one of your requirements.

                                        On the Windows Mobile side I would look at the Acer neoTouch S200. Another 1GHz Snapdragon CPU phone but with a 3.8" resistive screen. It had a few issues that were fixed by a patch and a ROM update and you can get this phone for about £310 SIM only meaning that you could move to a SIM Only deal and end up paying less than you would for the HD2 on an 18-month contract on Vodafone.

                                        It comes with little customization and little extra software beyond the standard WM 6.5 programs (IE, Office, Outlook, Notes, OneNote, Excel, Word, Calendar, etc). Because it isn't an HTC device there isn't the support from Xda-Developers that you get with other phones but there are other forums that provide help and even custom ROMS with the Sense UI from the HD2.

                                        The Samsung Omnia II is interesting with a 1500mAh battery, a 3.7" AMOLED resistive screen and a faster CPU than all the HTC Phones other than the HD2 but no comparison to the HD2 and neoTouch except in graphics performance. There are multiple versions with 2, 8 and 16GB or Storage. For some reason there is no place to put the stylus even though it is a WM 6.5 device with a resistive screen. It is more expensive than the Acer SIM free but it is available on contract.

                                        If you want a HW keyboard this time around there is the HTC Touch Pro 2 and the Samsung Omnia Pro. The Samsung has an AMOLED screen and a more powerful CPU than the Touch Pro 2.

                                        On the Android front I would looks at the Motorola DROID/MILESTONE, the Acer Liquid and the Nexus One. The Liquid has a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU clocked to 768MHz but if you sign up as a developer Acer will send you what you need to unlock the CPU to run at 1GHz. Or if you can wait the HTC Bravo (includes all the functionality of the Nexus One but in a smaller package).

                                        The SE X10 doesn't interest me. It has a powerful CPU and a large screen but the Sony Ericsson UI is a problem and SE said that it may not be running the latest version of Android because of the time it takes to adapt their UI to it. Right now it is slated to be released with Android 1.6.

                                        Other than that there is the Blackberry Storm 2, which fixes all the problems that the Storm 1 had (and with RIM's purchase of the company that made the Iris browser it should soon also get a decent WebKit based browser) and lastly there is the iPhone which I'm sure Vodafone will be only too happy to sell you.

                                        I'm looking long and hard at the Acer neoTouch S200 right now because Android still doesn't come close to doing what I need it to do but WinMo does.
