Anthony, 24 Nov 2009could you tell me if you see the pink in shots where you us... moreactually i did make a pic with flash. when you use flash, the pink spot becomes a very bright bluish spot in the centre.
to a very big extent, i think it is a hardware poblem.
by the way, did you try to take pics following my suggestion?

I believe what high-tech said is true because the pink happens to me too although i had thought i am the lucky one.
For those who still do not know if theirs have this defect, my suggestion is to take several pictures of a clean white paper, then put them in a folder in your pc, then display them in thumbnails, you will see how notoriously obvious the pink spot in the centre are! The pictures of colourful scenes could cover the pink and easily cheat our naked eyes!
i love this phone, love this winmo with capacitive touchscreen very much, but if it is a hardware problem, i think HTC should take the initiative to recall them immediately, instead of the customers demanding to return theirs.
if it is as HTC says only a software problem, and they can fix it, then, I still would like to keep it because after all and all, HD2 is a milestone of windows mobile.

And taking clean pictures are very important to me.
I would wait till I see the patch/hotfix on the HTC UK site before I buy my phone. That way If I was unlucky to get a bad one I would be able to fix it right away.
And no it’s not one month this phone has been on the shelves as yet. It only hit the shelves the 11th of November.
It’s not the 11th of December as yet.

And I am only getting the pink spot when I take low light shots indoors with no flash. And the only difference between our phones is I have the older rom (meaning my phone was made fist). I should have the bard hardware like how High Tech says his is showing the pink spot all the time not the other way around.

i think it's more than one month which it is announced and available,so it was appropriate time to resolve this problem in these new released phones..

HTC originally said that this was a hardware issue so it's possible that future batches of the phone will have a hardware fix while current users that hang on to their phones will have the problem masked/corrected via software.

Spoke with HTC about pink issue. They say they are working on a patch to fix pink issue with camera, but want give ETA on fix. Decided to keep phone and wait for patch. Don't fell like going through hassel of shipping back to seller for replacement. If patch will fix, I'll keep. Not happy at all with HTC on workmanship of phone. This is my first and last HTC device. Will stick with Samsung in the future. No problems with Omnia 2. So if I need to take pictures, I'll use the Omnia 2 for that and video recording..................
NEVER buy first release of phone. Wait a few months before buying any new released phones..............

Think twice before you buy hd2 or hold off your purchase for sometimes. There's hardware problem regarding camera. Nobody knows wats next. After all taiwanees co......profit over quality. I plan to purchase when US version come out. Hope they fix everything on that.
Its gonna be hard transition from iphone to hd2. But hd2 got one thing that no other phone has...4.3" huge screen.

This will be my last HTC phone I buy. Getting the run around from HTC on my pink issue. They said they don't know when the problem will be fixed. Said not to return the phone. So I'm stuck with a less than fully functional phone................Going back to my Omnia 2. It works GREAT no problems. I purchased the HD2 for screen size, but you want your phone to fully work (all)..............

Im from Sweden and using "3" as GSM/3G operator for appr 5 yrs, and will definetly change once my contracted time is expired. Do you want to know why?
"3" sounds 3G right? Not actually in that case; I have been using SE-P1i since October-2007, it is now time to upgrade in connection with extension of my existing subscription. Here you can see the options "3" offers to their customers! as mobile-phone products.

Not interested to see it and prefer a short explanation here istead? Ok.. You -as customer- may choose iPhone-3GS 8/16/32MB if you are a iPhone fan, if not; just leave it, you dont need to waste time.. because you will never see a WinMo device at all.. Just some Android (even on a special, dedicated(!) page in their homepage) and Symbian devices (mostly outdated). Have searched for WinMo devices' availability in other "3" sites globally (I mean their homebase country Hong-Kong, and also "three.co.uk") but no any WinMo device in the product variety(!).
This operator company called itself "3" and (like vodafone do) add own(unchangeble) menus etc. on to their special(!) devices.
Note: Have contacted my operator both in writing and via phone, noone could explain nor replied to the case.
