earpiece design Not beauty! hd2 look like ugly samsung phone earpiece,Don't have second camera for video call,body design too bigger,my hand not enough to hold this phone!

    This will be my last HTC phone I buy. Getting the run around from HTC on my pink issue. They said they don't know when the problem will be fixed. Said not to return the phone. So I'm stuck with a less than fully functional phone................Going back to my Omnia 2. It works GREAT no problems. I purchased the HD2 for screen size, but you want your phone to fully work (all)..............

      Hi All!
      Im from Sweden and using "3" as GSM/3G operator for appr 5 yrs, and will definetly change once my contracted time is expired. Do you want to know why?
      "3" sounds 3G right? Not actually in that case; I have been using SE-P1i since October-2007, it is now time to upgrade in connection with extension of my existing subscription. Here you can see the options "3" offers to their customers! as mobile-phone products.

      Not interested to see it and prefer a short explanation here istead? Ok.. You -as customer- may choose iPhone-3GS 8/16/32MB if you are a iPhone fan, if not; just leave it, you dont need to waste time.. because you will never see a WinMo device at all.. Just some Android (even on a special, dedicated(!) page in their homepage) and Symbian devices (mostly outdated). Have searched for WinMo devices' availability in other "3" sites globally (I mean their homebase country Hong-Kong, and also "three.co.uk") but no any WinMo device in the product variety(!).
      This operator company called itself "3" and (like vodafone do) add own(unchangeble) menus etc. on to their special(!) devices.
      Note: Have contacted my operator both in writing and via phone, noone could explain nor replied to the case.

I was just saying people with the new phones with the ROM update don't have this problem. It's not he ROM is the camera hardware issue.

          this phone looks good, I havent got my hands on it yet unfortunately. Was just wondering if anyone new when and if it is available on Orange and if not what networks is it on. cheers.

                Very Hard Discussion about HD2. See N900 has full flash support but it cant even run youtube videos at 1 frame/sec. Not office editing support. Camera can take pic at WVGA at 3 megapixel only. Recording WVGA is not more than 20 frames per second. Go buy it then you would come to know how boring is this Cigratte Case N900. Best phone uptil now is HD2. Best OS is WinMo.

                    I don't think Anthony or HighTech are trying to endorse anything/anyone here. They're very well informed people who're helping others make an informed decision. If it were not for them, I wouldn't have even known that sites like duttythroy.net exist!

                    Everyone wants to jump onto the touchscreen bandwagon. I'd say the only thing they might be endorsing is more freedom to the consumer by having lesser proprietary crap that the manufacturers subject us consumers to :)

                      And as I said before a rom is software not hardware. When hardware is being recalled it is done by the IMEI or S/N numbers that is how you identify phones not by a rom. Roms can be changed by the user IMEI or S/N numbers can’t be change by the user. So if you say a phone with a new rom does not have the problem then that was a software fix not a hardware fix. People have been change roms on windows phones for years now and that needs no new hardware to do it. Don’t you find it a bit odd that my rom is older than yours and I don’t have the problem as bad as you? Wouldn’t my phone have the same hardware as yours seeing it was from a first batch and your rom is newer? Anyway best of luck with the return, let me know how that goes. If you do get it replaced with a new HD2 and you did not go with one of the other options let me know what is your new rom code.

The only way to fix is to get phone replaced.......People with the newer ROMs on phones being released now don't have that problem..The problem was with the first released phones around Nov. 11th.............

                            There is no word or excel editors just viewer an a basic text editor that would not open .docx files
                            There are no unit converters.
                            There is no msn messenger.
                            There is no call recorder.
                            The N900 is good but it is of no use to me for my day to day work.
                            Other than making calls, pdf, and basic email with no Office attachments. The N900 is more suited for the person that is look for the online multimedia experience and 3D gaming. The office application would not work with the file formats of a normal office. So trying to use work PC documents on the phone is pointless.
                            The other demo videos I looked at were nice as well but it’s just not for me.
                            :-) And don’t worry about me. What you say does not make me like using windows mobile phones any less.

                              And that is what I don’t understand about what you are saying. If the problem is in the rom HTC can post a new rom on their site for download. They do it all the time. A rom is software not hardware. If you had said it was a batch of IMEI numbers then I would be shore it is a hardware thing. Anyway I will see what they tell me in the morning (because as I said before my shots indoor with flash or outdoor in daylight looks just fine. I only saw the pink when I turn the flash off in the indoor shots.

                                The HD2 might be the only phone I purchase from HTC. Not at ALL Happy with the phone I have. The pink issue with photo's really makes me upset. Good thing I kept my Omnina 2 (no problems). Will go back to that phone for now until the HD2 get replaced or refunded by seller. Having to go through the problem of getting replaced or refund. Not Happy at All right now. Now you have to wait for replacement or send to HTC........................................

                                    Anthony, 23 Nov 2009before you send it back could you take a shot with the flas... moreI've taken shots in doors and out. In light and low light. Still get pink on all pictures. Even when I start the camera the screen is pink until the camera focus on object, and then I get pink in the center. Also did a recording and the pink shows up there as well on the video. Today I noticed while watching a video you see the pink in the video. A person on the video had a white shirt on but you see pink on the shirt.

                                    In checking with others who are having the same issue we have the OLD ROM 1.43.479.0 (69826) which has the problems (the first batch of phones released). People who have the newer released phones with ROM 1.43.488.1 (70124) don't have this problem.

                                    Check your ROM ver and compare................Let me know what ver you have?????????????

                                        I dont know why people criticize a product that much. I have seen the flash browser support in N900 it cant even play youtube direct properly. A very few frames or not even one frame a second. Flash has got problem with Mobile Devices. As far as Battery of HD2 is concerned, One of the best 5 Volt batteries. 6.5 Watthour better than N900s 5.5 watthour battery. Now the camera. Not all cameras has the pink problem, if any. Better quality pics and full 30 frames for VGA. Not 25 frames for D1 or WVGA. What is the benefit of having more pixels when it is cutting not having proper frame ratio. I hope everybody understands. HD2 has far better performance than Iphone or N900.
