This is the one area I will say an Iphone is better.
But if you are just thinking about getting files, music and videos on the HD2.... that could not be easier. Just plug it in, put it in drive mode and it will come up as removable media and you can just copy files, music, and video to the memory card. The music player and video/picture album in the Sense UI will find it and even read the tags to sort it. Unlike the iphone it does not have to be in a special folder with a special file name for the players in the sense UI to see it. And for the unsupported formats just install CorePlayer.

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2009Does this have US 3G or will it be like the HD and come out... moreSorry no US 3G
You guys will get it next year. The European market is the one that all real Smartphone’s want to crack first. It’s good when a phone does both as soon as it comes out, but when it only does one... Europe is the one that will always get picked first. The US network is not all that good. And before any fool think I’m saying this because I’m from Europe, I let you know now that I’m not.

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2009I do read. That's the only thing the HD2 has over the Omnia... moreI read the spec and let me tell you that only reading a spec sheet is no way to judge a phone because a spec sheet can’t tell you how good a phone is at doing anything..... but if that’s the way you tell if a phone is better or not, let’s do it your way. After looking at the spec on gsmarena of the HD2 & Omnia II, this is what it came back looking like.
HD2 & Omnia II Tied at 17 things.
Omnia II is better at 10 things.
HD2 is better at 16 things.
So doing it your way the HD2 still comes out as the better phone.

            Tied list
            1. Both are 2G quad band
            2. Omnia II smaller in height and width but HD2 thinner
            3. Both have 65k colors.
            4. Both have 480x800 pixels.
            5. Both have Accelerometer.
            6. Both have speakerphone.
            7. Both have 3.5mm audio jack.
            8. Both have practically unlimited call records.
            9. Both can take 32GB microSD cards
            10. Omnia has DLNA but HD2 has Wi-Fi router so ill call it tied.
            11. Both have HSCDS
            12. Both have Bluetooth with A2DP
            13. Both have the same camera spec so that is a tie.
            14. Both have geo-tagging
            15. Video is a tie
            16. Both have radio so that’s a tie.
            17. Both have 3D games so that’s a tie

            Omnia II was better

            1. Omnia II has 1900 band in 3G.
            2. Omnia II weights less.
            3. Omnia II has AMOLED so it’s better there.
            4. Omnia II has Handwriting recognition.
            5. Omnia II has 16GB storage over the HD2 512MB storage.
            6. Omnia II has the better HSUPA.
            7. Omnia II has smile detection.
            8. Omnia II has camera.
            9. Omnia II has better Talk time.
            10. Omnia II has TV out.

            HD2 was better
            1. HD2 has Capacitive Touchscreen.
            2. HD2 has 4.3” screen.
            3. HD2 has Sense UI that is better than TouchWiz 2.0 UI.
            4. HD2 has Multi-touch input.
            5. HD2 has Proximity Sensor.
            6. HD2 has ambient light Sensor.
            7. HD2 has WMA ringtones. not just mp3 and wav.
            8. HD2 has 448MB RAM over the Omina II 256MB RAM.
            9. HD2 has a class 12 GPRS so it’s better there.
            10. HD2 has a class 12 EDGE.
            11. HD2 is wm 6.5, Omnia is only 6.1.
            12. HD2 has 1GHZ the Omnia 800MHZ
            13. HD2 has Threaded SMS.
            14. HD2 has both xHTML and HTML.
            15. HD2 has better standby time
            16. I’ll say that HD2 has the upper hand for software because it will have HTCPedia has XDA web site to back it up Omnia II does not.

Only HTC Devices have Xda-Developers support - one of the biggest forums for windows mobile. You can have a "new" phone every day by flashing Roms.

With the Omnia you are stuck. You have what you have. It is a lot laggier and hell.....

And the main difference between both phones is:

HD2 supports WM7 Omnia DOES NOT.

Atul, 11 Nov 2009Somebody posted Omnia 2 is equivalent to HD2, and asked to ... moreI do read. That's the only thing the HD2 has over the Omnia 2. Did you read the specs????? I can name a bunch of the things the Omnia 2 has over the HD2, like TV out for one, and better screen. You can check the reviews on that.

                        Dear All

Everybody is complaining about battery without even having a look at specifications. It is 1230 mAh but 5 volts battery. Hence generating 6.5 WattHour. While Nokia N900 has 5.5 watthour battery. HTC has better battery.

Kahn, 11 Nov 2009why no one provide edge /gprs class 32 other than NOkia??Why do u need class 32 GPRS/ EDGE when you have 3G. Its just a matter of months before its on all networks.
According to you what difference does it make, I have tested download speed on both Nokia and my Asus through various sites and I hav always found my Asus faster even on same network.

Jorge Bueno, 11 Nov 2009No internal memory Poor battery. Video call maybe ill be ... moreThis phone has 448mb or internal memory and is capable of using 32GB miniSD cards, so why do you need big internal storage?
When you buy a digital SLR it comes with no or very little internal storage. Do you see photographers complaining about that? Removable media is better way to go and here is why?
You say this phone has no TV out... well you can just put the memory card with the files that you want to see on your TV on in a device that has TV out.. And some of us can even put the memory card right in the TV.
You can also shear your data with other devices that don’t have Bluetooth or wifi like digital picture frames, old PDA’s, new DVD or blue ray player without having to hook to a PC first.
You can swap movies with a friend miniSD card enabled phone for fast file transfer because we all know movies are big and will take forever to send over Bluetooth when you are on the go.
And when the small battery in this phone is dead, online the phones that only have internal memory, I can still continue my work on a PC by taking the memory card out and putting it in the PC memory card slot.
