wat about the N900 will that have a similar option to lock the screen and block the data connection and only be able to connect to a wifi
i just want to be under a wi-fi not a 2G or 3G network and i want the phone to NEVER connect to it so i do not get charged.

Dutty R15 and Leo R6, not worth the flash for those using the HD.. Waiting for Miri's ROM v30, its seems that Miri is becoming a better cooker after V27..
Manila with Home tab weather animation like the Leo only consumes 42% of RAM!!!

I hope Dutty is planning on something though.. ;) A resurrection!!

Until then, I'm using EnergyROM Date 17th october..

      http://hotfile.com/list/112683/ddbccca

For free download just wait for the minutes shown above.

Great, Smooth, fast and stable ROM i must say with ROM experience all over the WinMo devices from SE Xperia to Touch Diamond 2..

As for blocking the 2G or 3G from auto connecting to the data network there is a program called “HD tweak” that worked for the HD. maybe it will work on the HD2 or they will make one for the HD2

                    I under stand now that with a wi-fi i can live :P
i have another question :P (ok i know i ask alot of questions, every1 close to me hate it when i ask questions LOL, but i just love to ask, i love to question everything =P its the way i learn. )
                    anyways
i was wondering on my nokia 3500 classic ( i know its primitive) i can go on the internet, and i know i will get charged for internet use. but I DO NOT have a 3G subscription to my carrier. What is that? and with my new HTC HD2 or Nokia N900 i do not want to use the carrier's intenret all the time only my home and campus wi-fi. is there w way to disable this feature on the HTC HD2 and nokia N900 i do not want to get charged for nothing.
Also i was thinking about getting the N900 but since it is a resistive touchscreen, how can i avoid it being pressed inside my pocket?

It connects directly to GPS satellites orbiting the earth so I will need a line of site and will not work indoors at times.
The map you use with the GPS might need a data connection (like google maps) to download info but any method will work like wifi, USB or Bluetooth to pc with net, GPRS, 3G and EDGE.
The weather animation does not need to be downloaded its part of the phone UI. just the info to till the phone which animation to show will be downloaded the same way wifi, USB or Bluetooth to pc with net, GPRS, 3G and EDGE any one will do. (my phone network does not have 3G and everything works)

The weather app will use either 3G or WiFi, whichever is connected. With the other HTC devices you can select either manual or automatic download so I presume the HD2 will be the same.
Its without doubt better than the N900 and if you do have any data issues with the HD2 I am sure you will find excactly the same with the Nokia.
