Perfect phone. I bought it 1,5 years ago and still thing that there is no better phone on market. But only after installing Android on it.
I using windows OS for TomTom software and Android for the rest.

kanthesh, 20 May 2011can this be converted to android OS by removing the windows OSYes! And it looks way better than with WM6.5. But that is my oppinion. If you don't like Android you can put in Ubuntu or even Bada(not sure). Check out "http://forums.xda-developers" for more info.

What I use to do just that is Garmin Mobile XT. I can get the software for you but you are going to have to buy/ get the map for your area your self. I only have the map for my area.

I went to my Bro'z place and he had kept a GPS tracking system in his car, was attracted to that as it was telling the routes clearly :) saying turn left/right in this much meters n all.
After returning back home last night wen i was gng out wit my frnds, one of them had a Nokia C6 and that had a default GPS tracker, and was directing the route.
They were making fun of HD2 saying , u paid this much n u dn have these sort Application.
And more over am gng for a trip next week and i must get this of my own :)

Nik Vel, 17 May 2011Am gng for a trip soon n am not sure about the entire route... moreOk, first thing you want is a program installed on your phone that dose “turn by turn navigation” next that program has to have the map for the area you are traveling to.
Google Maps has most areas but dose not do turn-by-turn navigation in most of them. All it can do is show you where you are on the map and update your location as you move. (You would have to log in to google maps from a PC and draw your own destination path. Then log into on the app on your phone to load that path)
Programs like “Garmin Mobile XT” dose turn by turn navigation but will be of no use to you until you download/get the map for it, of the area you are traveling. There are other turn-by-turn navigation software as well. So start by saying which one you are trying to use.

Am gng for a trip soon n am not sure about the entire route, Can someone help me to get the GPS Application work in my HD2. Never tried using it.

Almost all of the ROMs available are exceptionally polished and put the HD2 in a class of it's own when it comes to flexibility. Battery life is good with a standby time of two weeks. =-)

THIS IS THE WORSE HTC SMARTPHONE.....crap interface, bad signal, terrible battery life and hardly any window apps...big mistake by HTC!!!
